If you have money to set on fire
>What do they even teach?
They you to be proficient in a bunch of handguns and ammo. Some gunsmithing and other skills.
But like the other Anon said, nothing you can't learn in your spare time on YT.

Installed the DPM spring in my M&P. Definitely more force added over the stock 16# spring (mines the midsize).
It'll be for batch 4 of .45 Super, I'll probably load over 100rds of what I like the most of my 3 test batches. Alongside my USP of course.

All in all, a successful day. Only downside is the money I was saving for coating my PX-4 went to renewing my passport. Oh well, no rush.

You could go full fudd with a 1911. The HK45's basically just going to feel like a slightly different version of the USP you already own, with less mag capacity. Mostly just curious because the HK45 is a weird sell to people.

Do you have to file paperwork and shit when buying a new non-threaded barrel for a pistol? do you have to do that with threaded even? My barrel has a serial number on it.

No

Which gun?
>>
>>65063011
A 92 barrel is like 180-200 bucks. A porting job is like 75 dollars since you don’t need to do a slide cut. The extra is pure profit plus the profit margins already there in the porting job. Shops can’t materialize 92 barrels out of thin air and often buy at retail price from beretta.

I once was visiting family in Florida and went to range that was half indoor gun range and half restaurant. It was a tad odd. I just remember this cute Latina girl that worked behind the counter kept being extra nice to me

I picked up my new handgun today, it was an M9A1
everything feels pretty good in the hands, except the mag release buttons feels really stiff, i have to break my grip to really push it down
will that loosen up after repeated use or do I need to take it apart and lube that area?
>>
>>65064089
The mag release has two miniscule pieces held together with a compressed spring, and it's a real motherfucker to get them back together and in their proper place without the spring bending and potentially launching something around the room, so be ready for that if you do open it up.
I had a rough go of it just popping it open and reversing sides for a left handed mag release.

Ya it'll just be hard for awhile. Not a huge fan of the stock Beretta mag releases because they are always super hard to get to since they are so recessed. You'll be fine eventually though. Same thing happens with the trigger, it'll feel better and smoother over time
>>65064232
It's not really that difficult to take out a Beretta mag release button anon, how did you complicate it? It's like a completely captured modular unit that just snaps in and out

Honestly this is the best non-womanly reason. If you give a boy $20 and and send him to the candy store, he will come back with 20 candy bars. But, one of them will be his favorite candy bar. If you send him next time with $5, he's only going to come back with 5 candy bars, but one of them will be his favorite candy bar. Finally, if he only has $1 in the candy store, he's going to buy only his favorite candy bar.
Echelon is nobody's favorite. It's just a gun late by years to oversaturated market. Give it to Croatian police and army, and that's it.

Spamming gay bullshit is not board or thread culture. People actually come to hg to talk about handguns and shooting, you posting dumb shit is not in good faith. People actually responded in good faith to your “question” multiple times, you have burned that good faith by being a faggot and now people are less likely to respond to questions because they may be posted by some faggot “tee hee what if I post it again!”.

A few threads ago I was talking with some anons about flat point .45s. I have 50, 185grs loaded that I'll be testing on the weekend weather pending. These are loaded with 8grs of Long Shot powder, should be over 1000fps. I don't own a chronograph yet but I know someone who I can borrow one from eventually.

>>
>>65064784
I think ech posting is good because it reveals something unspoken and implicit about the state of the industry. Echelon is objectively good to go. But, anon has to post a stock image of it, because he doesn't have one. Why? He doesn't want to buy it, no one does. Mostly on vibes. We're getting too comfortable and nostalgic out of boredom.

if you ever find a GSD barrel, it can convert your .40 to 9 but you might need to change the extractor for a 9 for reliability.
EFK dragon fire has .40 to 9mm or .357 sig barrels on their site but I've never actually seen them go instock or anyone have one.

To my knowledge there is no one else doing cuts other than the Beretta OEM cut which is rumored to be phased out soon as Beretta is dumping their stock of 92X Performances for cheap and the LTT Elite II comes from the Beretta factory with the LTT cut and even has an iron sight cover plate.
If you don't like the finish/color, you can get that fixed. There is very little one stop shops that do everything a person would want, sending things to multiple places is common.
>>
>>65065237
You can't strip Cerakote if that's what you're asking. Not without abrasives or acid cutting into the metal anyway, same applies to the Bruniton Beretta uses, the parkerizing under the enamel paint can't be stripped nondestructively
But you can paint over anything

Yes, all post 92F stuff should work on a 92FS frame.
It's not really cheaper since Beretta slides only come off as take offs, so a Beretta must die for another to have a spare slide. I rarely ever see 92X or Vertec slides for sale that aren't the same cost as buying a complete gun.

I’m trying to drag my 92fs kicking and screaming into current year. I hate cerakote. I don’t know what ltt is doing with the park or if they’re just refinishing the cut area. Kind want a CRN finish. I’m the anon that was asking about pinned front sights while back.
>>
>>65065213
with the DS, it's been diligently cleaning/oiling
I usually let my pistols go 3-500 rounds between cleanings, but I've been cleaning this after every range trip
it wasn't really for any concious reason, I just sort of fell into the habit
maybe I just like disassembling it
>>
>>65065316
>Kind want a CRN finish
O
I'm sure there are ways to electroplate something like nickel overtop of paint and then apply whatever finish to that, but because it's not on a bed of base metal it'll not be as durable as if it were
Maybe you can ask LTT to not finish the slide and just stick with Bruniton? It's a very durable (from corrosion, but it can chip) finish. Or buy a second slide like the Beretta freak and just have that one milled. Maybe a stainless slide so you can kill 2 birds with one stone? That would also let you get a front sight dovetail
>>
>>65065325
That’s the hard part. No second slides. My view is that once it’s cut the whole thing is ruined and needs refinished. Im still navigating the front sight's pinning and how that would even work for refinishing let alone the height of the irons on the Langdon plate.

Your serial number is already in their system. Buying a new barrel will flag your profile for potential gun crimes. If you don't have an active form 75.B on file with ATF eForms and they catch you with that threaded barrel you're fucked. If you renew past the 90 grace period you're fucked. If you dispose of it without sending it to a local PD you're fucked. I don't know why you would come to this honeypot and post self incriminating things like this, especially with the AI scanning and monitoring tools they have now.

Where do you recommend learning the laws? I could start with grok. If there are loopholes to getting a rifle and keeping it in separate pieces at different locations then that I don’t know about. Handgun looks to be best beginner step.

grok ain't a bad start, honestly. there's plenty you can google after that'll give you more firsthand resources, which i would recommend. here in PA simply googling after gov sites that describe the laws got me informed. Nothing worse than telling people you learned about law from AI when it turns out it hallucinated some tiny detail you retain.

Really? I missed that. I used to shoot those exclusively until Rainier went out of business. I tried Berry's but they're just not the same. Which ones are those? I shoot 200 grs but I like the sharp edge like this one has, the Berry's are more rounded.

Oh I know it's fine, it's a very common powder, I'm just curious because you said 8 grains and my 200gr load is 7 so this could be fairly close. I like that I get 1000 rounds per pound of powder and I want to keep that.

Lubeanon is some German chemical engineer guy, he got really autistic and made his own gun oil as most oils on the market are the same shit different brand. He has his own blend. He’s not the only one to do it but he added dry lubricants that are suspended in the oil and coat the surfaces as well. So it’s super slick and even after it drys or burns off it still has lubricant applied. It’s my preferred oil.

His gold guard is a separate product as a waxy rust prevention for longer term protection or extreme protection for humid environments.

They're ugly as sin but they feel really good in hand. The thumb hole makes room for the thumb ramp with the jimping which is very comfortable and more knives should have that. That said, $200 is way too much. I paid $140 a few years ago and if it was any more I would not have bought one.

Silver would look great but I don’t really care for color alone. Mainly what’s the most durable and corrosion resistant. Black would be easiest as I’d I not have to send it to another shop after getting work done.
