I literally can’t give a fucking shit about. There are so many proxies out there both plastic, metal, and printed. The only good thing that can come out is if they’re funny looking so I can make fun of them because no matter what I’m not buying them. Especially not with the state chaos is in rn gameplay wise.
>Tomb Kings
Yawwwn
>wood elves
Probably only thing im looking forward to, I don’t want a new dragon, anything but the fucking dragon. Give me a stag lord and hawk mounts first, everyone’s fucking running a dragon I want proper wood elf stuff first.
>kislev
If they keep the rustic look and baba yaga stuff I can care otherwise it’s whatever.

I forgot to mention that you can go for Oathmark Revenants without shields to add even more zombies.
(You can always keep and paint the shields, without gluing them, just in case that you will want to represent proper armored revenants in the future)

NTA but if you want a bunch of them cheap. They sell a " Sons of Behemat " Spearhead in AoS that is literally just 3 WHFB plastic giant kits. You'd only need to source square bases for them.

Interesting. I am considering picking up one of those spearheads in the future. Not because I need 3 giants but because I assume they will be going away in a couple years and that kit is incredibly versatile. But if I do it'll only be after they announce that kits replacement.

I think I am going crazy. After ages looking forward to the Orc Command set, loving the Orc Warboss from it, suddenly I am looking at this guy.
I have him, but am I crazy for wanting this guy to be my general instead?

He'd be Monstrous Infantry like other Rat Ogres

Probably not.
You would just need to translate some things (so Ap-2 on the claws, maybe some sort of armorbane/sundering blows - theres functionally no outright "ignores armor" weapons in TOW, even cannons are only AP-3 normally)

Being excited for new releases would imply that I'd buy miniatures from GW.
>>97472515
>Kislev general release
This is one I'm actively not looking forward to, unless they - by some miracle - decide to re-release much of the old range and stick to that aesthetic. However, reading up on the TW information provided online (and looking at images, I've played TWW3 for about 30 minutes only) GW signed off on a much more vague medieval fantasy aesthetic for Kislev. Admittedly they don't look too goofy and high fantasy (except for the fucking bears everywhere), but beyond some units that they apparently released in 2022 they don't really capture that 16th and early 17th century Muscovite & Polish vibe that Kislev had.
They also seemed to have downplayed a lot of that older lore. The Gospodar-Ungol split is mostly gone now, besides for vague background fluff, and they're focusing much more on "haha funny ra ra rasputin meme" shit with that Kostaltyn guy, although he will luckily not be involved in any Kislev range release. Also baba yaga shit, which I absolutely don't get why it got so popular in recent years. It's such a minor aspect of "slavic" folklore, yet it needs to be shoehorned in everything mentioning medieval Russia... atleast it probably won't appear in any Kislev release, since GW can't copyright it.
I'd rather wish that they stuck to the classic Tsar Ivan style fantasy Russians, with their weird interpretation of pike & shotte warfare. Maybe add some obvious oprichnina rip-off, I don't know. That would make it both way more fun and way more proxy-friendly. GW let the Empire exist without many changes to avoid proxying, so I hold a faint glimmer of hope that they will take the old school route... and let me use proxies that aesthetically fit.

The chariot gives you a 3+ armour save, unless you're taking Unnatural Fortitude you don't need to take the Armour of Meteoric Iron. I personally think the Meteor Hammer is overrated, especially on a chaos lord. You're already starting at S5, you're going to end the game at S6 or S7 with a bit of luck, so you don't get as much value out of it as a lesser hero would. Neither of your propose sets of magic items are good.

That (and vanguard T1) was the benefit of meteoric armor. That and "I dont know how many cannons im going to be facing". Theres just not many good weapons (especially that leave you with other options" so I dont see many other loadouts. Ogre blade seems like a meme, too risky.
>>
>>97474388
An alternative lord build im considering (for when I finish the conversion) is:
Lord
Demonic Mount
Armor, Crown, Pendant of Damnation
Great Weapon. And then try farm attacks via regeneration saves. Much less durable, but much faster and potentially higher damage. And like 50pts cheaper.

I've been tinkering with something similar, except with a lance, shield, crown, pendant, brazen collar, 2x favour, enchanting aura, acid ichor, battle hunger, and dark hearts. You could swap out one favour to replace the crown with the talisman of the carrion crow to get poisoned attacks, but some schmuck chaos lord having a collar from khorne and a necklace from nurgle bothers me, so I won't. The maso-blender daemonic mount lord has potential, but I'll need to wait until the model I wanted to use for it gets delivered before giving it a try in an actual game. The GW setup also works, but I think a lance is better 'cause being able to take a shield puts you at a 3+ save and not having to take the armour of meteoric iron lets you get MR2 instead, though there is an argument to be made that you could just take the mark of Tzeentch instead.
Good lord, this might be the only legitimate use case for the mark of Tzeentch on a non-sorcerer character. That's wild.

>>
>>97474438
It's genuinely annoying because it makes picking out magic items boring and it completely invalidates several magic items and spells. Ward saves not combining is also why the mark of Tzeentch is the way it is and that's an even graver sin. You know what's actually fucked, though? Daemon Princes only having four wounds. I don't care that they have a 4++ or even a free 5+++ (that gets turned off vs. magical attacks), 4W is not acceptable.

Overall it was a huge success with lots of beer, snacks, and treacherous gameplay
>>
>>97474549
Yeah, that's a fair point, but anything that could bog you down is something you shouldn't be charging in the first place and something that you can out-charge and out-manoeuvre. Also, made a mistake, no battle hunger. Only works on infantry.

Game 1 featured this wild combat where a brick of chaos knights overran some Pegasus knights into the flank of the bretonnians knights of the realm brick.
The brets fbigo’d and held against the knights for 3 rounds. My bone giants chased the combat for those 3 rounds hoping to snag points for eating the survivor, but before I could the bretonnians had a wild combat killing 4 of the knights and taking no casualties in return, then catching the chaos warriors as they broke and fled.

In game 2 I deployed poorly, and a skaven player with a fell blade warlord got a t1 charge in my ushabti and tore through all my multi wound models before I could strike back.
Eventually my bone giants found themselves surrounded by giant ratmen. They went down swinging, I scared off with terror checks or beat in combat all of the skaven units until the stormvermin were able to turn around and chop them down.

I did have the pleasure of watching the stormvermin get crushed by some new chaos marauders, and then watch those marauders run down by even more bretonnians.
At the end of the day, the victor in our table was the dwarf player who sat in his corner doing nothing but take pot shots all day long.
Coward.

>>97474536
Dude you can get him to t6 easily and t7 the turn you charge.
Here’s an example build.
He has 3 layers of saves.
6’s in cc against him are rerolled.
4+ 4++ +5 regen(vs non magic)
Has enough ws almost everything hits him on 5’s (and by the end of every game everything will be doing just that due to gaze)
490 - Daemon Princes, Light Armour, Fly (9), Mark of Nurgle, Enchanting Aura, General, Wizard Level 4, Daemonology, Biting Blade, Daemonic Platemail, Healing Potion
Run a block of infantry which gets steed of shadowed and protects him from
Regular shooting due to staying close and enjoy his 360 degree sight/charge range man.
Maybe you are using him wrong?
Here’s an example build, you could probably drop him
To lvl 1 and just take fleshy abundance if you wanted to save points.
Like if you keep him safe from cannons and use him as a force multiplier- ie he hits some fuckers in the side as a joint charge you invalidate his only weakness(crumbing against static cr)
Post how you build yours and if you run them with infantry anti targeting support.

I played a lot of whfb back in the day with orcs and goblins, sold them and got into 40k. I've ever only used one army because the rest didn't appeal to me. Now that I'm back to fantasy (mainly painting and playing casually) how do you fight the urge of getting a new army when you haven't finished the previous one? I love painting HE, but after playing vermintide 2 with a few friends I kinda want a wholesome dwarf army that fights rats during the day and drink beer in the evening
>>
>>97474506
Sigmar protect me...
>>97475225
GW picks a posterboy for most armies with clear faction divisions to put on the box and webshop art, but a lot of hobbyists out there only follow paint guides that are generally based on said posterboys. Hence why for 40k the majority of Space Marines you'll find (excluding the greytides) are Ultramarines, half the Empire armies out there are Talabheim soldiers masquerading as Reiklanders and often led by KF in Altdorf colours, and Stormcasts are virtually always painted in the gold and blue scheme.
A lot of hobbyists get genuine anxiety from coming up with their colour schemes, and especially for space marines they will follow guides that explicitly say which drop of paint has to be placed on which tiny piece of the model. They're also always build according to the box art, no kitbashing in sight. It's kinda sad for a hobby that's meant to be artistic self-expression besides just the dice game.

not without some drastic rework
this is how I headcanon later eras uniforms in the border princes,
>all the disparate rulers, or would be rulers, of the border princes can roughly be sorted on two characteristics: whether they are rich or poor, and whether they still cling to the cultures of their lands of origins or not
>when norms and traditions are maintained, as it's often the case for recent exiles, the majority of them for the region is a dangerous one of ever dominant powers, the princedom is a microcosm of their nation of birth, albeit with more tense relations and the occasional compromise here and there
>it is in the older and more radical lines of exiled nobles where the princedoms explode in extravagance and ingenuity, enough to rival or exceed the land of tilea (even though tileans are quick to disregard anything they don't do as being in extremely bad taste)
>on the poorer end of the radical-exiled spectrum we find hardened survivors, brigands and mercenaries whose resourcefulness has seen them turn their title of "scrap knights" from an insulting moniker to a dreaded name; not in small part thanks to surprising stable partnerships with the tribes of greenskins and other barbarians of the northern badlands
>on the other end, the richer an exiled noble is, the more likely they are to cling to that lifestyle and try to maintain an impression of opulence and success at all costs: their courts are spectacular parades of unwieldy dresses, wigs, headgears and elite troops of bodyguards with the most avantgarde trends and developments in technology, and they often boast menageries of rare and noble beasts that would legitimise their status, like dragons and unicorns
>>
>>97475799
>but in most cases that's a desperate façade, for underneath the surface, many of their courts are dilapidated in the attempt to appear as rich and powerful as possible; the majority of the showcased riches and jewels are fake baubles; the elaborate dresses and fancy uniforms they're renown for are always falling apart and haphazardly patched together; their seemingly advanced weaponry are either impressive but mostly nonfunctional, or prototypes whose practicality and effectiveness rarely matches the standard of other kingdoms; even their beasts are lies, from chariots with terrifying sculptures mounted atop, horses with purely aesthetic prosthetics, or tamed wyverns passed as dragons (still an impressive feat by all accounts)
>nonetheless the test of time has proven that the pauper lords are anything but dangerous and full of tricks up their excessively lavish sleeves.
tl;dr: they are not technologically advanced, they're just weirdly dressed

Ghoritch has Frenzy and a reroll on units that all already ignore Psychology tests
Ghoritch lacks Impact Hits (-1), Primal Fury rerolls, Giga Frenzy, access to more magic items and the Mutations.
Plus the only unit he can join, or I would reasonably put him in, would be ROgres which are so god awful that Ghoritch is going to end up with brain damage after the first combat.

You know how some countries are taking active de-desertification measures, plenting lots of shubberies and trees in order to help screen advncing desert and better bind the soil?
That, but it's the Elves doing it, and the Tomb Kings are miffed about their beautiful dead wastelands being destroyed.
Or even the reverse.
Fantasy environmentalism is pretty hardcore.

>and they often boast menageries of rare and noble beasts that would legitimise their status, like dragons and unicorns
Altdorf has one (1) dragon, the only dragon in the empire, hes there because he likes it and no-one got to ride him except KF because theyre kinda friends.
Zero chance anyone in the border princes (that isnt an elf or chaos warlord) has a dragon.

To be fair though, GW often do pick a banger for their posterboy faction schemes - which they have obvious incentive to do, since the posterboys exist to be appealing enough to sell things - so a lot of the people just "uncreatively" replicating it do so because they genuinely find it appealing.
>>
>>97475608
But that's a retarded strategy, because their paypiggies are not the penniless social meeja poofters who constantly agitate for female marines. Seriously watch what happens with femstodes - all the activist wanks on instagram etc will buy *maybe* one box and (badly)paint *maybe* one model to try and prove they aren't just soulless harpies who's only pleasure comes from taking away ours, then every Custodes army you'll see going forward will continue to be 99% helmeted and completely ignore the gender thing because the people who actually buy armies don't give a fuck.

So thats +14 boxes (or however many "activist wanks" there are) sold then.
If most players dont care, and then some small number care (positive) a small bit, thats a win for GW/
I doubt theyre going to do femmarines, but the custodes with female heads will probably do well/fine for GW, because the people who actually buy boxes dont care and some small number of people might now buy it when they previously wouldnt.

I’m looking online and I can still find a few Solar Auxilia FOMO launch boxes from well over a year ago. The only thing that sells well in HH are space marine kits and that’s only because it’s the same kits for 20 different armies.
If you look at actual engagement online. How many views HH vids get etc. it’s not a very popular game, certainly far less popular than TOW.
>>
>>97476906
Thats probably true. HH has very "dedicated" players, the average pts is 3000 and most players have a lot more than that. But it has a smaller number of players, in no small part due to still being weird and inaccessible.
>>
>>97476860
its effectively a 40k refresh. They go out of their way to say as much in the article.
>>97476863
we both know in our hearts what the answer is.
>>97476872
>HH Fomo boxes generally don't sell out in a week or two
Thats because they produce more HH boxes than what tow does. Tow is similar in killteam in that they purposefully under produces its boxes to ensure they do sell out.
>>
>>
>>
>>97476923
>its effectively a 40k refresh
Its compatible for 40k, but its very clearly aimed at HH.
Outside the base guards the units they touched (achilles contemptors, jetpack dudes, pallas tanks/transports) are all much more significant in HH than in 40k (do they even have - non legacy - rules there?)
>>
>>
>>
>>97476936
Everything that was shown in the preview has rules in 40k. The tank in particular is the biggest want for 40k players. The jet pack dudes will be scalped alone just for the fact that they have the wings that sanguinary guard lack.
>>
>>97476939
Cathay did space marine numbers from what the rumour mongers heard. Outsold every AoS launch. That’s actually what we heard, and why they rushed the second wave out in like 5 months after the first. Meanwhile HoH army sets (fomo) can still be found in significant numbers for sale at third party stores.

>>97477184
The only things that hold up well are the dryds (of which aren’t sold in tow), the eternal guard kit, and the wild rider kit. Everything else either aged like shit or isn’t in plastic. Treelords in particular can stay in Aos, they really were an endtimes model designed for a whole other army that wasn’t for wood elves. Japanese high heels and all.

>Middle Mountains is basically the Chaos Wastes full of Norscan enclaves that have never been defeated
The Middle Mountains are mostly deserted save for several smaller orc and goblin tribes, and sometime after Great War the Brass Keep got occupied by the stinky variant of Norscans. Oh, and loads of monsters. The lore in general is a bit iffy on this region because dwarves apparently abandoned the region because of it not containing any minerals, but Hochland and Middenland are able to find enough to operate several mines. Perhaps dwarves don't settle for anything less than mountains filled to the brim with gems and gold (yet ironically they chose to settle underneath Middenheim of all places).
Actually, Hochland's entire shtick is to be the highlands running up into the Middle Mountains (atleast the northern half of the state is), so apparently there's something of value to be found in the southern half ot the range, even if its just relatively safe grazing land for lotsa cows.
I don't remember who's supposed to occupy the Brass Keep at this point in time. Sometime around Magnus' reign it had an Empire garrison. The keep only has a connection running into Ostland though, so not a problem for My Dudes to deal with!
>>
>>97478295
I might be the resident Hochland anon, but admittedly I don't know if Hergig was explicitly a thing at this point in time. If the writers intended for it to be on the Wolf's Run at this point in time then it might be located just off the map, but that changes between every map and I don't know if Hergig being in the Weiss Hills was the 'original' intended location, or whether the Wolf Run location is.

I don't think Hertgig was a thing. I remember hearing from a grognard that there used to be a fan project about basically making a city splatbook for Bersberg, which WFRP players assumed was the province capitial

During the combat he murdered half the unit with spectral doppelganger, cleaving through their shields and dodging their blades. However, after so many battles fought and being wounded by a bolt, one of the Dark Elf warrior's blades found it's way through his guard and stabbed him through the heart.
In the end, he took a total of 600 points by himself and became a legend among the Loremasters of Ulthuan.

Cant unnatural fortitude chosen knights (god I wish), you cant take it with heavy or plate armor.
Unnatural fortitude on the sorcerer isnt legal for similar reasons, although it also useless there, since the sorcerer would become the chariots T5 anyways. Maybe consider the dagger of the dark pantheon if you have the points, to have him be less bad in melee (and help your magic)

I'm aware of how strong the mark of Nurgle is, but the model I'm using as my daemon prince (picrel) is painted in the colours of Chaos Undivided so he won't be getting that immensely helpful re-roll 6s or Fleshy Abundance. I could give him the Tome of the Dark Gods, which I in fact did along with the Rod of the Damned and the Armour of Meteoric Iron in order to have a flying piece of magical artillery that can cast 3 magic missiles per turn, but he didn't end up casting much of anything and the second I made a mistake while moving him around and left him in charge range of a shugengan lord he got evaporated.
I get why the build you're talking about is better than what I did and I know there's also the Ogre Blade + Meteoric setup (which is what people at my LGS told me to run & is also what the best WoC player in Canada uses, apparently), but doesn't the fact that a 490 point model needs to have a unit babysit it so it doesn't immediately explode just prove the point that Daemon Princes aren't good? A chaos lord or exalted champion on a dragon costs about as much, fights better, and has twice as many wounds. Sure, he won't have 360* LoS... but you won't be at risk of losing 1/4 of your list if a single round of combat goes poorly or if you placed him just a little too far away from his bulletcatchers.
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of having a level 4 wizard that can fly around and also fight well (that's why I painted this guy!), but 4 wounds just means he's way too frail. A single cannon-shot can kill him and even if he is protected by being near a unit, won't he just die the instant he gets into melee with anything his babysitter unit would actually need help with? I don't know, man. I'll try playing a few more games with my DP before casting judgment, but I really don't think he's actually any good.

Yes. The dwarf slayers are decent. Most of the other stuff was mediocre and had serious mould problems (though if they're doing a fresh run they may fix that), and the dwarf hammerers equivalent was very bad, bad sculpts, bad mould, waste of money.
The slayers are a modern 2010 style gw plastic kit though, flat joint arms and waist, weapon hands flat joint separated at the wrists, ball joint heads, Mohawks a separate piece, and all parts interchangeable between every model

What's the best way for Empire to deal with Gyrocopters and bombers? Just fought dwarfs for the first time and got shot and bombed the fuck out of. All my shooting just bounced off their toughness and armor and my infantry couldn't do anything as they did circles around me. Looking at what they do they seem outrageously cheap so it's hard to see what would be worth taking to deal with them.

What army does this terrain tactically benefit most in TOW?
>>
>>
>>97481687
it depends on how you're home-brewing and placing them
but they look WAY too small for a normal unit to go up there, unless you consider them akin to a building, in any case the units that would benefit the most would be artillery and ranged units and wizards
especially if it's difficult or impossible for troops on the ground to reach them
aside from treating them like buildings I think good ideas rulewise would be to not place them in deployment zones at all and/or make them move randomly each movement phase (the bridged islands move together once and then you use a second roll to see how they rotate)

The AOS ones are great, but like with the warriors they probably want a distinct aesthetic between the games.
The old ones are a good bitz box with some really nice heads and shields in particular, but the weapons tend towards the cartoonish.

>reveal this Monday
>new update for a classic kit
It's going to be some gay space marine shit but there's like a 0.1% chance it could be warriors of chaos related.
>>
>>
>>
>>97482341
>Why?
The only* current assumption is that the deal to have chaos undivided in both TOW and AoS means the two studios agreed to separate their chaos ranges in looks and themes, with tow getting viking looking norscans and plain chaos plate, while aos gets marauders that wish they were like conan and trimmed and blinged warriors, but the above stands on the idea that aos is also getting a chaos wave to change how their warriors and knights look in the short term
*also chaos sells and they need an enemy faction to be brought up to the sculpting standard of cathay so they can present these two together, and chaos sells

Just say your sweet demon prince is an everchosen anon, has all the marks.
(He looks very cool, thanks for posting him) - any opponent that has beef with that deserves to be executed.
But yes tome of the dark gods is great too.
I play against chaos a lot, like 2 of my 3 tow pals are chaos guys and both run demonprinces.
Can I ask if you are dancing outside of dispel range? I know it’s not quite the same but for me with a Warplock engineer I skitterleaped the little guy all around the map ensuring I can stay out of dispel range for his spells.
Ideally with my suggestion you really only need him to not get shot apart the first 2 turns, as you wipe out the enemies guns with something.
I get that a 490 point unit shouldn’t ‘need’ support- but he’s a scalpel for sure. Maybe just drop the spells down to lvl 1 hammerhand enjoyer and call it a day.
I really think a healing potions mandatory for him though.
But yes keep at it! My buddies have also ran into the trap of sitting him back as a mobile magic missile piece all game and they’ve found he’s not really best used like that.

>scatter dice each turn 2d6 inches per turn!!
>on a "hit" on the scatter, after the move (in the direction of the little bolder line on the hit sign), the island crashes onto the ground, hitting nearby units (directly underneath is like the center of a catapult hit, within 3" is the normal catapult blast) and forcing the unit on top to fall off and suffer dangerous terrain tests and get hit by the smaller catapult strength
>if a player has a unit on top of the island it can reroll one of its dice (either one of the D6 or the scatter dice) and choose the direction of the move in case of a hit
>the player whose turn it is can choose to reroll all the dice of one island, or block the opponent from applying any rerolls on that island, as well as directing all islands without occupants that roll a hit

If that box is real it’s going to bomb incredibly hard.
Anyone who already wants Tomb Kings has them as they were the starter army and Wood Elves are one of the worst armies in the game outside their comp build.

The Witch Hunters Handbook must be popular at GW since they only reprinted it 3 years ago(with pic cover), and they never reprint books like Liber Necris, Liber Chaotica, Blood on the Reik or the life of Sigmar, even though the last one is the same format as the Witch Hunter Handbook

This has filled me with some ideas... Of a whole game based around floating rocks, and the table beneath is covered in cotton to look like clouds... The island move around and most combat is done via artillery and shooting, and when rocks crash into each other you can hop over to the next one for melee.. imagine your troops getting pushed back in melee, and they literally get pushed off the rocks and fall to their deaths below!!! When the scatter dice hits center, instead of "crashing down" the rock will either ascend or descend, if your rock is higher than one next to you, your unit can "jump" down onto the lower one ... Holy shit... Kino

Ghoritch rat fag back with a 2nd take after Chat GPT took a swing at rules
It recommended for 295-310pts:
-Doombull stats
-5+ regen
-AP-2, Multi Wounds 2
-Skaven reroll panic within 6in
-50 points of Magic Items
-Frenzy
Doombull Stats 210
Scimitar of Skultar 25 (AP -1, Multi Wounds 2)
Gouge-tusks 30 (Additional AP for AP-2)
Crown of Conquest 40 (5+ Regen)
Ironhide Talisman 30 (Magic Item allotment for immunity to multi wounds. Killing Blow is not multi wound)
Total 335
But Ghoritch would not have Impact Hits (-1), Primal Fury rerolls, conditional Giga Frenzy. Not to mention you could actually make a competent Doombull for the same points with a 4+,5++
So for a shit build and less impactful rules GPT may have been cooking at 310pts

I've really enjoyed it desu. On my third year of GMing it so far on Foundry. My main issues would be certain talents being total no-brainers to take means certain careers are incredibly undesirable. Plus the habit of giving really shit stats for supposedly strong characters and items is a sticking point. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do in 4.5 and with the post-Enemy Within campaign story.

>What was your list?
Not really looking to tailor a list for it, just some general advice. The thing can move 18 inches while still being able to shoot with no penalty and is always -1 to hit at T5 with a Vanguard move all for only 70pts. Shit's bananas.

Well, annihilated a new player today that shouldn't have happened. New guy wanted to learn cause he loves TWWH and my buddy gave him a dwarf list he wanted to try. I ran this list.
Wild herd [1500 pts]
Great Bray-Shaman, Braystaff, Wizard [Level 4 Wizard], General, On foot, Skin of Man, Hagtree Fetish, Lore of Primal Magic - 225
Warhoof, Heavy armour, Throwing axes, Javelins, Ambushers, Mangelder, Charmed Shield, Pelt of Midnight - 171
Primal Warherd, Foe-render (champion) [Great weapon], Standard bearer [Banner of Outrage], 14x Gors [5x Hand weapons + Shields + 9x Additional hand weapons], 10x Ungors [10x Throwing spears + Shields], Full Command - 200
7 Centigor Herd, Great weapons, Throwing axes, Ambushers, Gorehoof (champion) [Scourge of the Burdened] - 173
10 Ungor Herd, Shortbows, Ambushers - 50
10 Ungor Herd, Shortbows, Ambushers - 60
1 Razorgor Herd, Hand weapons (tusks), Light armour (calloused hide) - 52
1 Razorgor Herd, Hand weapons (tusks), Light armour (calloused hide) - 52
Cockatrice, Hand weapons (claws), Petrifying gaze, Heavy armour (scaly skin), Acidic vomit, Poisoned Attacks - 200
6 Warped Gors, Additional hand weapons, Ambushers - 102
Cygor, Hand weapon (claws), Hurl attack, Light armour (calloused hide) - 215
Cygor missed all 3 rocks he threw, my primal herd stayed in my deployment zone to hold the baggage train. My 2nd unit of ungors and wild gors came onto the board, so they didn't get to do anything. We had breakpoint as the game length, and dwarfs dont have enough models. So between the centigors, pigs, cockatrice, one unit of ungors, and my shaman, he lost at start of bottom of 3rd turn.
Kid had a great time at least, and will come back next week so he liked the game but was blind sided by an ambush list. Probably should have went a bit easier on him.

What makes Warhammer truly brilliant is that it's Middle Earth from Lord of the Rings but with the Holy Roman Empire dropped right in the middle. So you get all the grand fantasy, but also genuinely interesting, complex, dynamic human stuff at the same time
It's the best of all fantasy worlds.

look at the gunners. Im not really a fan of the peasants to begin with (the weapons look like shit with those poses, although I plan on using bowmen either way), but, and let me preface this with saying I am not perry anon, those gunner models are quite frankly the laziest examples of cadslop i've seen in a while. they look boring and have the same heads copy pasted between them. I mean shit the same head is repeated like 4-5 times there.
>>
>>97483396
Hey anon, not suggesting counter listing, I’m just wondering if your all comers list struggles to deal with zoomy skirmishers in general which is why .
Magic missiles work pretty good, elementalism I think I’d go for.
Hellblaster still rips it, and anything apart, it’s rarely got a shot t1 though, so just ensure it’s got coverage on whatever flies over and thank your opponent for overcommitting with the gyros
I’m really steamed rn so I’m mind blanking, but you tell me how it’s getting -1 to hit? I thought the skirmisher -1 only applies to unit strength 1 models.

I hate to pass up a box but I guess they'll probably get redone in the rumored starter, so I should just wait for that, huh?
>>
>>97483831
Btw that is perryanon posting. He has a distinct writing style. He will say/post whatever to denigrate fantasy. That’s how he spends his time lmao. A good way to out these shitposters is to ask for a timestamped model. They can’t ever do it because they don’t own fantasy models.
Anyways to your point. Yeah that box is probably going to be a good entry point. I only hesitate because we have no idea what those units look like in terms of rules/balance. But yeah it’s pretty safe to say that you won’t be treated at “ that guy “ anymore for playing Cathay. Although even pre balance update if you didn’t bring multiple balloons no one hated playing against cathay.
>>
>>97484343
I personally think glade guard look pretty good if you don’t paint them with the GW eavy metal edge highlight method. There’s good examples online of non GW paint jobs on them. But if they still aren’t your cup of tea then you should def wait.
>>
>>97484156
>but you tell me how it’s getting -1 to hit? I thought the skirmisher -1 only applies to unit strength 1 models.
Ah, okay, this fucking game has so many little exceptions to so many rules it's hard to remember them all.
