>>
For a periphery colony or colony collective, what is the better path for ease of manufacture. Having a mech engine with a tech rating of C and structure as tech rating D. Or the reverse? My gut says the lower tech engine. Another question is when generally would tech E components spread out past the major periphery nations? Specifically DHS and endo steel? I know endo in particular will require orbital facilities.

Looking at the examples of Colonial Tractors and Hope Industrial Works, they basically don't ever get full access. By the late dark age they're still using full introtech with a smattering of advanced weapons or armor. With outside help such as from the cappies or specialized engineering firms, they can get more stuff, but that's a lot of importing. Fronc specifically downgraded their homegrown BA project because they didn't want to have to rely on imported clan armor or allow the shart foxes to have a trade enclave inside their borders.

it's intentionally low poly as it was originally something I got commissioned. What I've been posting is that model frankensteined onto an anime model
I've contemplated frankenstein-ing the MWO models in the past for something more HQ but the major issue with that is the poly count for the MWO models is insanely high and I have no clue how retexturing the models will work out. More than likely it's gonna be more work than I'd like to deal with.
>>
>>97493730
You could try using the model you have commissioned as a stepping stone to crafting a Medium-Poly Dragon model, something that wouldn't be out of place on the Xbox or in Mechassault. Still high count but not as ultra high quality as MWO's.

Depending on what you mean, it's already been done. IWM has done Branth infantry models, and numerous sculptors have made minis of scantily clad Heavy Metal type figures. There are countless bikini warriors, and I would not be surprised at all if there were already models of pseudo-sci-fi bikini warriors on flying dragon type mounts in at least 25mm scale.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>97494717
Oh, that would be easy, you just need to find an Atlas with posable arms and then glue a branth to it. The Branth-on-ground model would look more like it's about to launch off, but you could probably kitbash it with the flying model to adjust the legs.

Does anyone have the most recent version of the BT LOS diagram that was made here lying about? The one showing the various effects of woods, depending on mech positioning? IIRC it was updated multiple times, and the reference to the most recent BMM printing used changed as a result, which is how you could tell one was newer.

Can anyone suggest a trooper loadout with 20.5 tons of free space. This space will be used for all weapon, equipment, and armor. The chassis moves 3/5 and had 10 SHS in the engine. The only armor choice is primitive. I am fucking struggling here. My first attempt was a LL, 2 ML, a MG and half ton of ammo and the rest into armor.

There's a fair few primitives that are actually pretty good for what they are. In most cases all they really do is trade speed. I think you might like the Ostwar as well.
I don't think you will get that magic 20.5 tons of free space at 3/5 with primitive by the way outside of maybe dropped to 35 tons. You either get too little or too much weight to play with.

Addhara has fallen following the death of Principes Antonius. Blakist forces swarm across the planet, and the Master's flag flies above the ruined cities of a now ravaged world.
The Marian Hegemony is in full retreat. While pulling back through the devastated city of Algen, the newly promoted Principes Cato is ambushed by the 52nd Shadow Division.
Seeing the routed, disorganised and crippled Hegemony forces as the perfect, low risk, test for the newest weapons being developed on Necromo, Adept Baal pulls the bulk of his forces back. At his command, prototype Word of Blake Protomechs and transports filled with Battle Armour are released into the streets of Algen and once more war fills the dead city. With no choice but to fight through to safety, Cato leads his men into battle.
The Blakists won this one. I had to prevent at least a third of the Marian's from escaping the table and managed to do so while killing Cato. Adept Baal is racking up quite the kill count when it comes to high ranked Marians!
This is the end of our narrative campaign.
Addhara lies in the hands of the Word of Blake, already being reinforced by Circinus Federation troops while the Hegemony flees the world in droves. Baal is now Domini-Regent of Addhara and the Master has commanded him to make preparations for further incursions deeper into the Hegemony.
However, numerous Domini died in this invasion, the Word of Blake Militia are crippled and will certainly be unable to hold the planet without a steady stream of soldiers and supplies from the Circinus Federation. The Protomechs and Battle Armour performed exceptionally, and reports of their success have already been sent to Necromo, although the world has gone strangely silent of late...
It was a victory, but a bloody, hard won victory.
Me and my mate has so much fucking fun doing this. Fitting it in between work was a bitch but it was totally worth it.

It's 1000 stars, most of them blue giants, with a radius of just 20 light years. The central cluster spans only 4. That is too much heat and way too much gamma radiation, nevermind the orbital chaos of that many massive bodies in that (relatively) tight a space. The stellar winds would be so fierce that planets would have a hard time forming, let alone surviving for billions of years or maintaining atmospheres, much less life. Even a shielded dropship would just be a big microwave oven in that. Even a "Blanet" would be less retarded.

Honestly the Swordsman is a cool design, kinda wish the Davions had modernized it instead of retiring it.
A Swordsman variant with an actual sword would have been cool for sure.
It's the same with the Gladiator for me, I hate that the Dracs mostly retired it, it's a cool trooper and it fills their Medium tonnage niche that early Dracs had little of. Would have loved to have seen tons of Gladiators alongside Panthers, Jenners, Dragons, etc.
>>
>>
>>97495976
Dracs retired it due to butthurt despite it being an actually great design which I always found dumb as fuck. Ends up getting resurrected for the Dark Age and the 3R and 4R are eternal with mercs. I would actually say its probably one of the strongest medium designs available during the Succession Wars and I have no idea why someone didn't think to start reproduction earlier.
Swordsman I feel is too much a baby Shad without any mobility due to lack of JJ. It would probably need a new variant or major overhaul to make it viable to keep around. A sword variant with TSM and MML though might have been neat.

Haven't read the gothic book yet (do we even have a pdf of it?) so I have to ask, does it add any special rules because of the setting change, like big monsters using HP instead of armor or something?
I'm curious because if we ever get another crossover box with perhaps some fantasy setting (or Shadowrun) would they add a magic phase or just treat magic as pre-existing weapons. Like "oh in this universe energy weapons and swords are actually devices that amplify the pilots magic while the mundane races have to make due with autocannons and hatchets".
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>97496270
I asked if there are any special rules in Gothic. Gothic is a box and would set a precedence for if this line has special rules or not. You need a box for it to come with rules for the crossover. Battlerun is not part of an actual box, but an april fools pdf. It does not set a precedence for what would happen in the next box of this kind of product.

If they didn't want WW2 to be involved with things then they should not have touched the subject with even a thousand foot pole.

They invited the subject, just like FASA did before them with the Greenhaven Gestapo.

I swear how do they mess up such a simple concept for a mech? Everything that isn't the 3R in 3025 is pretty good, but after the helm recovery there are maybe 3 good crusader variants. the crusader, like many introtech designs, just need clantech versions.
see : HBK-4G -> HBK C
clan xlfe to get it to 5/8/5, clan endo and ff, clan lrms and streak 6's. replace the mlas and mg's with clan mplas
boom, fixed.
you now have a clan invasion solahma mech / fccw+ mech that is still the quintessential crusader, with maximised efficiency of the design.

ATM is Advanced Tactical Missile, it's a clan missile system which chooses between ER, Standard, and HE ammo. ER does 1 damage/missile, Standard does 2, and HE does 3. They're solid because of versatility but less good than Clan SRMs or LRMs at any particular role.
iATMs are improved versions invented by the Society. These are absolute nonsense and not remotely balanced - on top of the ATM stuff, they get Streak effects, so you skip the cluster table, and they add Inferno and Mag Pulse ammo as options. I've never actually seen them on the table as no one anywhere plays the Society.

to rubber wheels, yes.
Steel and other metallic surfaces slide on pavement like it's ice, this is an instance of Battletech rules being realistic.
Mech feet are not rubber shod because the weight and method of locomotion would tear the rubber up and wear it out in hours, mechs don't have shoes and if they did then comstar would be second fiddle in economic and logistical power to Nike, Sketchers and Adidas.

Well, I do too, but I stopped posting battle reports because either noone cared to read it or found arguing with the shitposting retard more entertaining. And if that's the case then fair enough.
Pic from my last game on Sunday. Jade Phoenixes fucking suck to fight against, did 156pts of armor damage and no structural across 4 turns of shooting.
>>
>>
>>97497181
Unpainted terrain rustles my jimmies a does mechschale terrain.
It's one thing for mech minis to be abstracted so you can paint them, handle them and identify them, they only occupy one hex, but a building spanning multiple hexes is going to be bigger than than the mechscale building depicted, it's incongruous in a way that hurts the brain to reconcile.
>>
>>
>>
>>97497147
I'm playing every other Saturday in a campaign now, but like everyone else, I see no point in posting batreps. Also I usually only take one picture of the entire battle because hovering over everything constantly is annoying behavior.

>>97497196
I just accept that mech scale terrain looks better and don't worry about how it makes the weapon ranges shorter than they already are, because whether a machine gun stops hitting at 90m or 18m, it's ridiculous either way.
>>
>>97497197
I play tabletops to have physical game pieces that are not tied to ephemeral save files and restricted to a single device, I lie to put my Player Character on a shelf to look at even when not playing the game.
Socializing as a part of that is something I endure, if I could have a competent algorithm play the opposition and physically move their minis around I'd do it in a heartbeat.
It sucks to involve someone else's desires and ideas in my escape.
>>
>>97497204
As an addendum one of the things I like about battletech is the way hexmaps are designed to make terrain unnecessary and that the required model count is low, it's a huge space saver and it makes going out to game far more portable.

It pisses me off that there are so many clan invasion and fedcom civil war spheroid mech designs that have never had minis and dont even have 3d prints and instead cgl is focused on ilclan, alternate universes and releasing multiple poses for shit like urbanmechs.
There are hundreds of mech chassis' that need to be given minis before getting sidetracked with bullshit.
>>
>>97497147
I played today. My opponent and I beat the shit out of each other over 11 turns to end inconclusively with nearly every surviving mech on its ass with a busted gyro. An ilClan game that played out like an introtech game, weirdly enough.

I could concede to major designs as many of the spheroid clan invasion mechs are trashy and even in the lore were low production numbers and largely a result of the IS having "kid in a candy shop" syndrome with all the helm core and clan tech options.

Do the events on the planet Nostromo have a canonical resolution? I heard that the campaign is never addressed elsewhere so what exactly happened on there is left ambiguous.might be interesting if it’s implied that the Nostromo arc is a critical point of timeline divergence: if the broken is destroyed or left forever trapped on the planet, the Battletech timeline continues on on whatever course it is headingbut if that AI escapes, then it will lead to a age of mechanical overlords that will only end with either a “Cybernetic Revolt” or possibly in a “Butlerian Jihad” depending on how badly things go

iirc there are rules that let you move at ASF speeds with your JJs in space, it's just that you have very limited fuel at base, which is why a dedicated space mech needs to drop a ton or two in liquid storage for proper combat endurance.
>>
>>97497786
I'm pretty sure your thrust is 1/3rd of your jump, round down. Most mechs are barely a 1/2 in space. Traditionally fast jumpers are like 2/3s. Even fatass ASF are typically at least 5/8s, if not 6/9 or even upwards of 10/15

Don't tell me, their priorities regarding new production and plastic models is completely puzzling. Celestials and Society mechs were a theoretical target for 2026 and instead we got an extremely slow release of stuff no one cares about, and Gothic was a flop that they needed to defend with tooth and nail (and no one who works in any real work environment believes that "it didn't slow down our timetable").
Puzzling choices all around. But hey, at least Leviathan will never release thanks to their mismanagement, so we got a silver lining.

Can do!
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1 ¼ cups milk, any
1 egg
3 tablespoons butter, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
First, In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Make a well (like a volcano) in the middle and pour in the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Break up the egg first with a fork, then mix it with the liquid ingredients, and then combine it with the flour, working from the outside of the bowl in, until just combined and mostly smooth.
Next, heat a non-stick griddle or large pan over medium heat. Once hot, grease, spray, or melt butter on the hot surface. When using an electric griddle, heat it somewhere between 300 and 350F.
Immediately, pour ¼ cup of batter onto the greased surface. This batter doesn't spread, - use the back of a spoon or the scoop to shape it. Cook the first side for about 2 minutes, until the edges begin to look defined and bubbles form. Flip the pancakes over and cook the second side for a little less time.
Finally, remove the cooked pancakes from the pan and repeat the process with the remaining batter.
Hope this helps!
>>
>>97498067
Okay, here's a healthy pancake recipe that serves one and is high in protein.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup Flour
1 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 cup Horse Semen
Instructions:
You get about 5 dozen eggs, start putting them in a bowl. Mix the FUCK out of them, and whaddya get?

What is it with Periphery mechs that are 'easy to repair and maintain' and never getting quirks to reflect that?

My mercs originated from the New Colony Region so I want some Periphery mechs to add flavor. The Toro is the only one I've looked for that I've found 3D prints for sale. I'd like a Marshal, too, but I haven't found one.

It just follows your Donut Steel merc company as you:-Complete the standard "avenge your dead dad" storyline that all gen Y written games feature
-Join the Crucis Lancers in taking Tikonov during the 4th succ war, then you fuck off to Sarna and help save the Syrtis Fusiliers and Crater Cobras from certain death
-Help turn the First Tyr against the LCAF so they can start the Rasalhague independence war later
-Defeat every other Mercenary company at least once and then you also take out the Bounty Hunter himself and steal his Marauder
-Then you participate in the Ronin wars and smash several Ronin and LCAF including the Arcturan Guards
-Turns out the evil bad guys who killed your dad were backed by Comstar trying to get the location of an SLDF depot off his mech, so you get to the depot first, kill a Precentor, and then destroy an entire Level IV in the process with a single lance and the depot has a spooky Clan star on it as foreshadowing
-The rest of Comstar then threatens to rape you sideways so they force you into a contract where you work for the Dragon during the '39 war, helping out the ALAG and Arkab legion. Also you get gifted several custom Otomo mechs because.
-Then you become the Solaris champion
-Then you happen to be on the front as the Clan Invasion starts, where you and a lance of goobers take on a Trinary and win, then you GTFO. On the way out your Leopard flies past the Dire Wolf who just lets you go without a fight because lol lmao
-You then go to Rodigo and almost single handedly beat an entire Cluster of wolves
-You then go to Last Frontier and do the same to the Bears, and at the end you kill yourself (your player character and her star from the Ghost Bear DLC for MW5 Clans)
-Then you blow up a Smoke Jaguar cluster by yourself
-Then it turns out that SLDF depot actually had more shit in it so you jump over there but Diamond Shark set up shop there, so you destroy a cluster of them as well
>>
>>97500305
And finally,You raid the data vaults and it turns out that your Dad was a freeborn Intelser operative the whole time from the Diamond Shark merchant caste, who then pulled a Wolf's Dragoons and went native, this is an embarrassment to the Diamond Sharks but all their dialogue just focuses on them having Jaguar tier birthism and it's the only reason they say they want to kill you. Obviously they fail and you get away scot free and the game's timeline as of writing ends at Tukayyid, which you never get to participate in

aesthetically the PGI and Shimmy designs are equal, realistically the PGI designs are superior becaue they can be printed in perfect detail a home, whereas the shimmy design only get produced by CGL's lowest chinese bidder. They are bubbly to the point panel lines can't readily be distinguished, the mold lines are everywhere and often unreachable, and the material itself is spongey on the interior, so filing to fix it can result in more problems.

>Boss who was carrying your entire two man unit dies.
>You inherit the "unit" except it's literally just you.
>You scrabble around taking jobs to survive like murdering protestors and blowing up corporate HQ's.
>Eventually scrap together a lance.
>Do well in Solaris.
>Get captured by Clans.
>Escape in a hovertank
>Enjoy your jobs having actual money rewards and good salvage for a bit.
>Get called in to defend Luthien.
>Retire because it's been 25 years and you're old.

Frankly, I would like to see a vidya that's actually about goody two shoes. Maybe not a real-time action game like MW though. To me, that's played out and the people making them aren't very competent about it anyway. A game about a small crew or maybe even solo pilot trying to disrupt a local pirate operation just because it's the right thing to do would be neat. Change up the format, make it less about grinding up to bigger and better mechs and more about tactically using what you've got, maybe with one or two story based salvage upgrades/expansions. Finally catch that pirate lieutenant out and let your mechtech or some other sidekick who's been trying to become a mechwarrior help out. I know we all like the sprawling procedurally generated mercenary career stuff, but it doesn't always have to be that. We could have more tightly structured games if Microsoft and their licensees weren't all hacks.
