>Blessings.
More games, more proxies from STLs.
Less chance of an even worse company buying out GW.
Autism.
>Curses.
Bad publicity from trend chasers.
Higher chance of GW doing bad GW things as in worse things than their usual stuff.
Autism.

>I wish it was never popular so I never had to be in James workshops clutches.
I think it is a weird tug of war to whether popularity is a good or bad thing. They both have their advantages and disadvantages.
But to be fair I think 40k was fully mainstream after the first Dawn of War vidya game came out.
>Total war warhammer 3 and Darktide have ruined me.
Same.
>And they aren’t even really good games.
I enjoy Darktide for the music and the melee FPS mechanics, but I get ya. There is something odd about them.
Maybe I am a paypiggy where you could slap the 40k logo on something and I'd probably consume it.
I think this is a wake up call to me.
Admittedly I've been hoarding STLs and looking at printers for a while so maybe I am breaking free. Or maybe this is all temporary and I'll be back in the pay piggery ways.

please >hate doing trim
>think I can manage to deal with tiny details if fun
>will go insane if I have to "assembly line" paint my army

Unironically Imperial Knights
>hate doing trim
There is some trim on Knights but it's miniscule compared to some of the stuff seen on CSM and the like
>think I can manage to deal with tiny details if fun
Knights have tons of tiny little details on them in their armor, the inner frame, and the weapons
>will go insane if I have to "assembly line" paint my army
Only having to paint a single digits amount of models means zero batch painting
>want them to be visually striking from both size, model design and painting
Knights are the biggest thing on the table usually, that alone tackles 2/3rds of those.
>want each model to be unique and not samey
If you go and paint up Freeblades you don't have to commit to a single paint scheme for all your Knights. If you do stick with one houses' colors you can still change up your knights by mixing different classes of knights.

Doing a Houndpack Lance list because i found it's box very cheap . I'll be running 10-15 war dogs and 1 Knight depending on pts limit.
Aura wise, what's the best Knight to buff a mix of melee and ranged War Dogs ? I'm between Ruinator (Increase armor pen of attacks by 1 if they target the closest enemy unit) and Lancer (all ranged weapons have Assault)

My brother downloaded dow1 on his Mac back in 2014 and we played the hell out of it for years.
in 2022 when I graduated college I finally had time and money and I got some models and paints and I was shocked that most of the characters and units I remember from DOW were gone or completely different.
I don’t even play the game but I paint load of models mostly AoS.

I’ve been thinking a lot about yellow and painting some imperial fists.
Is the best way to airbrush pink then use the contrast paint? I want a warm strong yellow. Not the bright lemon kind but the kind that leans toward ochre or brown. I’m thinking of printing or looking for second hand scout models. But I’m unsure of a secondary color for the belts or pants.
Grey white, khaki, or warm earth brown?

I don't think Tau players care because they don't pin their entire personality or political philosophy on a plastic toy solider game. 99% of players don't. My assumption is that some say "mmm big titties" whereas others ignore it like any other faction ignores fanart they don't like.

DOW1 was the peak of 40k vg, the cinematic is still unsurpassed, it was the entry into warhammer for so many people of your age. There's an anon on tg that is doing the buildings from DOW1 as 40k terrain, and they look great. Blood Ravens as a chapter is memed upon, for good reason, but they are still generally popular.
Paint and play with the minis you like, and don't let passive accumulation of plastic become your hobby.

Reminder that every Eldar x Human couple or implied pairing in 40K is Eldar male x human female.
Reminder that even in the power fantasy RPGs such as Rogue Trader or Dark Heresy Eldar x Human subhumans will get crushed by GW's mighty boot. Human men will never have sex with Eldar women, they won't even get to touch them. Meanwhile Eldar men will empty their balls in human bitches. You will watch how the masses of human women lust for superior Eldar cock and take miles of it, while the Eldar stacey reminds you what a pathetic subhuman you are too disgusting to touch. Watching Marazhai's art number eclipse the Emperor's within a year of the game's release.
Reminder that Eldar men are superior to human """men""" in every single way and if they were real, human women would slaughter millions of human men to be with one.
Reminder that an Eldar woman will never fuck you, would rather flay herself alive than touch you and that you will always be a subhuman.

I have no idea lmao, I never played custodes before. Will give you a rundown after my game.
I find it odd how you have so much more minis than me in your army, even if our forces are somewhat similar:
1 shield cap
1 allarus shield cap
2 blade champions
3 squads of 5 guards
1 squad of 3 vertus
Our difference is I have a squad of
5 sagittarum
3 allarus termis
5 bolter sisters of silence
1 Telemon
I guess the sagittarum and telemon are overcosted? Yours seems to be more balanced than mine.

he and people like him aren’t bullied for their models, they’re bullied because they’re obnoxious retards. people just use his shitty models as a launching pad to bully him. unironically, he’d probably get away with only the light jab every so often* even if his models were covered in thunderbolts and 88 symbols if he was a chill poster and kept to the story that he just liked the aesthetic.

He took his rhino's and modeled the treads off and put them on a flight stalk on a big rectangular base. In front he put two of those manta ray things. He ran and draped a bunch of 1mm ring chain between the rays and rhino. Modeled his rhino's into Tzeentch chariots, they looked cool as hell. Wish I took a picture of them.

That is straight up not true. The vast majority of Tau society has no idea what happened with the fourth sphere expansion, and only a teeny tiny percentage have any concept of Daemons.
One Fire Caste commander went full purge the Xenos, but on the other hand Shadowsun is like, wait no this is powerful we need their mind-science. And the Ethereals seem to be taking a "let's see how this plays out before we commit" tack
The T'au society is at a turning point, this is the whole thing, will they fall to ignorance and unthinking genocide like humanity or will they learn to use the different abilities of the different species even in the face of the horror of Chaos? That's the whole thing

The "point of chaos" is that it's power that appeals to self-serving morons.
>I want more power
Chaos undivided
>I want to be more killy
Khorne
>I don't want to die
Nurgle
>I want to be in control
Tzeentch
>I want to feel good & some
Slaanesh
Any retard that want to "use chaos against itself" is doing so because of ego.
>I'm different
>I'll be forgiven
>I'm being a hero and misunderstood
Chaos gods are nothing more than glorified genies, except you're the one tricking yourself.

I checked the old CSM codex
>Dirge Caster
The Dirge Caster is a broadcaster, which
outputs a non-stop litany of Chaos.
Incomprehensible and disturbing to all
others, the sound enthrals and absorbs
the followers of Chaos, driving out any
uncertainty or doubt. Apart from
Daemons, all Chaos units with a model
within 6" of a vehicle with a Dirge Caster
become Fearless (see Special Rules on
page 12). A Dirge Caster cannot be
mounted on a vehicle with a Warp Amp
(see Book of Slaanesh).

Immo is a trap 90% of the time. You’re better off splitting the 10 man into two fives and putting them in Impulsors, running Vulkan with intercessors instead. I’ve seen one guy who’s pretty good with Sallies run a 10 man with librarian and the immolators enhancement, but he mostly uses it as a distraction carnifex while eradicators or atvs move in. Vulkan.

I believe in the Imperialization of Chaos is the ultimate goal of the Emperor and the point of the setting. The Emperor plans to rewrite all of the Immaterium into his image. Abaddon the Loyalist, his greatest ally, is secretly into this plan. This is why he chose the name Imperium Nihilius, to retain the name Imperium.
Together, all of Chaos will become theirs. Khorne will wake up on his Golden Skull Throne, not realizing there's anything wrong. Tzeentch will be unable to shapeshift in any form but Space Marines. The only drugs going through Slaanesh will be performance enhancers for Space Marines. Nurgle's Nurglings have already started wearing human hats. The process has begun and cannot be stopped. Besides Daemons, all Chaos on tabletop is already Chaos Imperium. Eventually there will only be Chaos Imperium. Then there will be no Chaos without Imperium.
It's already working marvelously. The poster children for Chaos are CSM who fight with Bolters, Plasma, and other Imperial weapons. No Chaos Xenos exist. Daemons will be squatted and soon all Chaos will be Imperium + Spikes.
Chaos will become Imperialized. Just imagine what this means, the Immaterium composed of thoughts from countless universes, all being Imperium. This means across all realities, it's impossible to even THINK of non-Imperial things. This is the Emperor's goal.

File: Titans are tall.png (1 MB)

Hey anon, sorry only just saw your post.
To answer your questions in order:
I got a cheap display base off Amazon because I wanted something with a bit of weight to keep the tall fella from falling over. I am sadly not near my collection right now to measure it for you, but I think it was ROUGHLY 20+ cm across. Once painted and with a bit of vanish on the edge you can't tell its cheaper then the expensive ones you get from a a model shop. I would advice you to think about the pose before picking a base so you know how big it should be, use a paper and draw a circle and think about what you want on the base. I went with a simple frosted base to match the rest of my force but i included some wood blocks covered in cork to support the front leg so I had a solid anchor point. The rear is a model railway bridge I heated up around an outline of the titans foot to create the idea that the titans weight had crossed some sort of imperial infrastructure. These are titans after all.
As for how big, BIG. Tall at least, not so chunky. But he is faller with the fin then a warhound by quite a bit. He towers well over all GW terrain.
My experience with the guy that I want to impart onto you is, for the love of all that is holy, use elephant snot (power tack I think is the proper name) when posing the legs. If you google the revenant titan you will find so many people who end up with him in very goofy poses because they put the legs together too quickly, Dry fit, do them one at the time, glue one segment of the legs at the time. Hell I had to rip him apart at one point because he was learning much forward.
If you want to transport him anywhere, invest in a some strong magnets to put inside his torso. I magnetized most of him and he is still big.
The arms will be a BITCH if you plan to magnetize them, they are too long, too heavy and will hang, so I glued them on. Only to realize they could be magnetized and then be supported by the shoulders.
Best of luck!

There's plenty of quad gun in real life.
But the problem in 40k isn't limited to just the new one. Even the old quad HBs had issues with feeding. Like, where do the top guns get their ammo from in pic related? At least the old dreadnought twin-HB arms had the bolters staggered, so the chute could go past the bottom gun to the top gun. The hurricane bolters had functioning looking chutes for all of the guns. There was a bit of a 90 degree turn to get into the gun, but you can imagine some sort of feeding mechanism taking over by then, rather than cartridges magically feeding through the bottom gun.

We’re of course discussing promethium from the planet Veniz!
Promethium begins as crude oil which is then refined into promethium proper which is used to execute the Emperor’s will. However, not all oil is made equal, and some oil is “sweet” which has low impurities and is easier to refine into promethium, or “sour” which has high impurities and is harder to refine. Veniz has a lot of sour oil while the Eastern Fringe has lots of sweet oil, so its far more preferable to take oil from the Eastern Fringe than Veniz.

Interesting, I thought it was just segmentum solar that had the good sweet promethium and the eastern fringe had middling tasting stuff, but a lot of it. But I've also heard places that solar forge worlds are specifically built to handle the sour sludge promethium.
Something I do hope of all this hubub is the imperium taking a serious look at moving towards other STC patterns that don't rely on promethium

Pop culture has always been popular and memes existed before the internet. I liked pic related as the US had Bill the Cat from Bloom County painted on their tank during the 1987 Canadian Army Trophy competition. The most well known Meme for the US was the "Kilroy was here" graffiti. That shit was plastered around the globe by US troops during WWII. Video essays throughout YouTube's existence rely more on clickbait and manipulating footage than facts. Often, Behind the Scenes footage is a great place to grab quotes that tell a completely different story within their context but few watch them enough to know edited footage isn't lying.
Also, there's definite abuse everywhere. Jake Lloyd got bullied out of school, Reylo shippers are toxic enough to call death threats on actor boyfriends and wives. It's a whole shitshow.

>Jake Lloyd got bullied out of school, Reylo shippers are toxic enough to call death threats on actor boyfriends and wives. It's a whole shitshow.
What are the causes for this kind of behaviour?
Is this partially why GW doesn't really credit Warhammer authors (except BL) and writers of codexes out of fear of them getting harassed to this level?
>>
>>
>>
>>97875630
I have no idea. But many fanbases have actors harassed for similar reasons. Books like Harry Potter and Twilight also saw similar. Some of it is aggressive shippers who can't tell actors from characters but while that's an exceptionally mentally ill bunch, that's not everyone. I think people are just crazy.

It may be weird, but I believe that at some point GW will entertain the idea of Nihilus shenanigans disrupting supply lines so even space marines will have to dip their toes into their pre-primaris reserve gear.
Now as for the tanks I'm not sure how that will be justified beyond the Transformers fan "to sell toys" thing.
Maybe the lore justification is that not all ForgeWorlds have the technological capacity to recreate anti-grav tech so now there are treaded versions of anti-grav space marine tanks because treads are easier to make like how autoguns are easier to produce than lasguns from a technical know-how perspective.
But all in all I can see GW going this route to keep putting out new minis for more space marine sales.

I think pricing is why and they must consume to show their allegiance to brand and the brand's product.
In this case to GW's Warhammer 40k and to signal to 40k fans that they are on their side.
But minis are too expensive for them.

no star wars fan was responsible for how it turned out. disney made so many blunders without ever consulting any fans of the franchise and it turned into shit for it. these blunders include but are not limited to
>burning down the entirety of the EU and starting from scratch
>electing your first nu EU books to be written by a fourth rate author with barely any knowledge of star wars
>slashing the budget for your cartoons
>giving exclusive rights to your video game IP to EA for cheap because you thought video games didn’t matter
>not focusing on cool alien designs which meant toys wouldn’t sell well
>not writing a general plan for how the sequel trilogy was going to go and instead focus on “mystery boxes” which have to be opened, but aren’t meant to be opened.
>switching directors midway through your new trilogy
none of these things were the result of fan input, and are all done by incompetent corporate execs.
>>97875587
essayists may have poured fuel on the fire, but it didn’t matter because what they were talking about was complete shit. the prequel trilogy was also ripped apart by people taking stuff out of context, but they still bounced back because they rolled with the punches and released cartoons, toys, video games, and books which fleshed out the universe and lightened opinions on it. if it was entirely just dudes taking stuff out of context, they’d eventually be drowned out by a good product that was popular. it was a shit product, it was unpopular, it died, good riddance.

Somewhat a disagreement, but I think it is also GW "canonizing" a fan conversion of models. But they've done that MK7/8 helm on primaris bodies a long time ago before this with a few models.
Maybe in the beginning of primaris they were saying that the conversions were not possible? Maybe if they had that during the primaris wanking they walked it back.
If so it is probably because of that Astartes fan animation. Which while a good 40k animation is a nice 3D animated achievement as a work of one guy so it makes it all more impressive. That fan animation may be why the MK7/MK8 helmet remained iconic.
Do you think those "alpha legion decloaking" conversions are gonna be canonized at any point?

I sincerely believe that the road to "lore patching" the sequel trilogy of Star Wars will be much longer than it took to fix the prequels.

But that show is highly controversial with plot points, character focus, and reveals that get many fans angry. Rather, it's partially fans growing up and can now out shout older fans, but also all the surrounding media attention it had there. Star Wars was thriving in the PT era and pushing so much plastic GW would be envious. It had tons of shows, tons of games, tons of books, and the overall setting was distinct enough from the OT to be a massive playground for media.
The ST not only didn't strike when the iron was hot, they also have a setting far more similar to the OT. Any story that could've been made about Resistance vs First Order could've been made for Rebels vs Empire in a much more popular era. It doesn't have much of an original leg to stand on. Even today, games and media are still made during the PT era or having PT era stuff like Jedi Survivor having CIS droids. If this was 40k, the ST would be like having a Horus Heresy 2.0 so identical to the original that there's no reason to set anything there besides GW push compared to the actual Horus Heresy.
>>
>>

It's one of the things when you get older. Red Dawn came out when I was 7yo. When I want to tell a fun story to a young person I now need to check if they even know what its referencing is. >Rather, it's partially fans growing up and can now out shout older fans
I think this is the case with all franchises that last over 10 years.

Thought Disney money would have made the iron hot with all the advertising they could do.
>If this was 40k, the ST would be like having a Horus Heresy 2.0 so identical to the original that there's no reason to set anything there besides GW push compared to the actual Horus Heresy.
That's a pretty good explanation to be honest.
Do you think that with Star Wars having taken a huge blow from Disney and so far still scarred to my knowledge that the iron is hottest for 40k to take the scene and it's show to be good?
A few threads ago there was a TQ about the show being 3D animated. I've thought that 3D animation is still considered a kid's thing despite Sausage Party having been a movie.
Think Amazon knows that the iron is hottest to make 40k the next Star Wars but they're afraid of fumbling it which is why the show seems to be in production Hell?
>>
>>97875800
For me, it sucks when people don't get the reference and from that get a warped view. With CoD for example, it was action movie references and set pieces everywhere from game 1. I've heard complaints about being too movie like or too many references to modern media but the same crowd just didn't get the references the older games made.

>Thought Disney money would have made the iron hot with all the advertising they could do.
The ironic thing about Disney is how bad they are at corporate greed of all things. Media like Cyberpunk genre settings loves depicting media as tyrants but not as often as incompetent tyrants shooting themselves in the dick.
Compared to the massive toy lines, deals with Pepsi, and everything else for the PT, Disney outright refused to have anything ready for the ST, as if they somehow expected that the movies alone would make the same amount of money as the entire Star Wars IP did. They seemed surprised that they even needed to make media and toys outside the movies; hell, they didn't even have Grogu toys ready to sell, despite the fact that even a blind idiot could see that there would be a market for "baby Yoda". Also consider their deals with EA and other failures to do good on gaming, a market worth https://newzoo.com/resources/blog/global-games-market-to-hit-189-billi on-in-2025 by now. They don't know what they're doing.
>that the iron is hottest for 40k to take the scene and it's show to be good
For 40k, it's harder to tell given there's no set trilogy of films nor end date for some saga. The hype won't be around forever but for Star Wars, being during the time a big trilogy happens is major. Would a 40k equivalent be some book series like Horus Heresy? I can't tell.

It's mostly because the kids who grew up watching it are old enough to talk about it. I'm trying to see what I could comapre 40k with. Star Trek doesn't have any definitive series end points laid out from the start. Even the MCU had set phases and are reliant on how many popular villains the comics have. 40k could run out of Primarchs to bring back but done badly people could always stop caring before they're back. The MCU right now isn't as heated as before and they still have tons of iconic Marvel comic characters to go through.
What I mean is, I don't know how it'll go. Depends if new content is able to keep players. It could be before a big saga's over and fans already quit.

The enemy had a Rogal Dorn Tank Commander. I thought it would be easy work, especially since I pulled the vehicle killing mission.
I placed my boltstodes on the top floor of my terrain and told myself "these guys would just keep shooting at the tank, debuffing it while my Telemon runs up and punch it to death".
My mistake thinking 40k is a sensical game. Apparently terrains are infinitely tall, and the bigass tank is hidden from my boltstodes (who can see the whole table btw, they were so high up) because it was behind terrains barely taller than it.
Anyway, I also learned that my Telemon, the giant massive robot, cannot enter terrains. Its dainty feet cannot enter the ruins of buildings, and its big base means it can barely fit anywhere. Interesting.
I got first turn, so I had my spear stodes led by a blade champion advance and charge towards a Kasrkin squad. They overwatched with all their plasma, doing nothing but killing 3 of their own men.
My custodes did short work on them, annihilating them turn one, and are now looking at the Krieg engineers and Vindicare staring in abject horror in the same ruins.
My Sisters of Silence held my objective, my shieldstodes took center objective and terraformed it, and my other squad of spearstodes advanced to the other objective.
Turn one was doing good, but I entred a trap, as my friend played turn one.

Here's another fun thing about terrains. Enemies in terrains can shoot you, and there's nothing you can do about it. You cant shoot back at them, you cant charge them.
Also, I had a squad of custodes in the same ruins as the engineers and vindicare. But in the 40th millenium, you cannot warn your comrades of enemy positioning. So the vindicare on the top floor cannot be targetted by the volleys of missiles from my Telemon, nor can his position be doused by the double plasma flamethrower of my telemon's wrists.
I paid for that by having the Vindicare teach my blade champion how to use a straw with his forehead. Via a special bullet.
Now my custodes squad couldnt advance and charge (since I planned to spend a CP to refresh the champions once per battle skill for it).
The other side of the battlefield was less eventful, for now...

Those cheeky kriegsmen! Over 30 of them hiding in a ruin, completely UNDETECTED! My jetbikes couldnt charge them, nor can they see them, despite almost licking the walls. And they paid for it with half a dozen plasma and melta shots. The lone jetbike survivor then got shot at by the Rogal Dorn, before dying as guardsmen came POURING out of the ruins and poked him to death.
But they did now die in vain. Now these kriegs infantry squad and command squad are surrounded by my shieldstodes, other spearstodes, and the boltstodes. It my turn to shoot now.

I discarded bring it down for another objective where I must annihilate a unit. The Rogal Dorn is not going down, not after it absolutely destroyed my Telemon (because a piece if its track can see a bit of my Telemon's base around a corner).
Not only that, but Drier and his cavalry arrived!
Lucky for me, I Unleashed the Lions. Turning my Captain led Allarus into four units! Each of them split up, one attacked an artillery piece, another decimated a heavy weapons team, and two blocked Drier's cavalry from attacking a Custodes squad.
And they took that charge like a champ! The custodes cut a swathe or horse and men, so much that they even destroyed the nearby Leman Russ (maybe I shouldve kept that objective).
A lone Allarus in the opposing deplyment zone triggered an objective and net me some points. And my sisters kept on my objective and nets even more points.
I am ahead by a lot!
But then, the Rogal Dorn started to move...

Without the Telemon, the Rogal Dorn has nothing to fear. It shot everything off my shieldstodes, who did manage to deal a significant damage to it, but since its a tank, it can just run away.
Drier, the last survivor of his charge, also ran away. And this act of cowardice spelled my doom.
Although I was over 17 points ahead, my opponent pulled a mission that gave him points for taking most of the table, and for killing a character.
My last character was the allarus captain that was facing Drier.
All hinged in him surviving for me to win.
All I had left was him, an Allarus terminator, wiping his axe clean after butchering an artillery crew, and the Boltstodes who did their best to do a whopping 3 wounds to the Rogal Dorn.
With Drier bravely fleeing the Captain, the latter is now standing open, and alone.
Seeing the Rogal Dorn pointing all its guns at him, the Captain activated his power to only be dealt 1 damage in the shooting phase. For all the mighty melta and multi melta, and heavy ordinance and rerolls of the Rogal Dorn, every mighty blast only dealt 1 damage, and the Shield Captain lived with but one wound!
But as a final act of cowardly by crafty warfare, the vindicare aimed his sights at the Captain, and with a trigger's pull, did only one damage to him with his mighty rifle.
But one damage was enough.
My lone Character died. He no longer holds the enemy's deplyment zone, and my opponent obtained a GLUT of points from it.
I lost my lead and lost by a mere 7 ish points.
All in all, it was a fun game, and I had fun. My Custodes cut a swathe of my enemy, but their low numbers really took a toll on the latter rounds, where they lose table control. The +1 to wound if isolated from the Lions of the Emperor detachment was a great boon, but I was retarded and forgot my Katah bullshit often.
The Guard hurts, but they cannot take as much as they can dish. While the Custodes can deal and receive a lot of pain, but not for long, every death took a heavy toll.

Next up will be with my Templars.
Maybe a bigger but slightly more fragile army will do me well. The Templars can cover more ground than the Custodes after all.
Anyway, thanks for reading my blog.

I don't mind them releasing primarchs, but the whole narrative thing always falls flat. They try to hype up a primarch through narrative, which isn't required. Maybe it's because normalniggers only care about narratives/stories?

And if Dorn doesn't return to the Imperial Fists or the Black Templars, but instead returns as a Crimson First?
You know, going back to the origins, to the original poster boys.

Depends on what you do with it. You could separate the titan into multiple terrain pieces. You can also cut the parts into thinner slices poking out of the ground to maximize terrain pieces output.

yeah wanted very much something inspired by winter assault since im tired of flat cut outs or faux gothic and medieval ones, so something like a knee there, a torn leg there, head and shoulders in roughly same direction etc. not very official-compliant but is cool to me, all 3d printed since no way in hell im sourcing an actual titan for it

A shitty, bad looking variant. It looks like if a cartoon MkIV was hit in the face with a frying pan and bent its snoot down, along with the ears giving the overall head a more soft, rounded shape. I'd rather just put MkVI helmets on them, which is convenient since I got a bunch of spare ones.
