what’s your favorite armor mk? I’m waiting for nu-mk IV before dipping my toes into HH. I’d also love to use a mix of chaos legionnaire bits, MKIII, and MKIV marines to make a small warband of fallen

>favorite mark
Mk4. I like them all now but as a kid Mk4 was just the best shit ever. The kneepads, the flap, the snoot. Looks great without the snoot too (UM honor guard standard bearer).
>numk4
I've got great hopes for it but knowing GW I'm bound to be disappointedSo I'm already planning to spend a lot of money on a custom design
Close second is mk3. I really liked the old GW mk3, and my only gripe with the nu mk3 is the shitty trim on the legs and arms. I'm getting a box of them with the express purpose of shaving that shit and making a few fun characters, like a remake of Sgt Chronus.
I don't play HH, but one project in the bucket list is 1 legionary of each legion in my own intepretation.
>Fallen
I've still got an old DA upgrade with some bodies, and since dangles are my main marines I'd like to do something silly with fallen; I've got three "types" of fallen:
>chaos fallen / lutherians
>neutral fallen
>"risen" fallen / inner circle
I'll be using the old DA upgrade bodies to test out a colorscheme for each. Chaos fallen will have red, neutral will have no color (black, white & robes), risen have green. I'm not good yet with greenstuff but when I get there I'm playing with the HH mk2 & mk3 to make some fallen for objectives/narrative play.

Why do fags complain about 40K prices?
Realistically GW has the best minis on the market, highest detail and overall quality. Other companies have similarlly priced miniatures, the price isn't that far off.
Plus this hobby IN GENERAL NOT JUST 40K is not a good idea for poorfags, you should know what you're getting into.

Beastmaster Pity Character
Urien Rakarth will get a new model with Grotesque entourage, it will be a combined box like the Lord of Contagion and Terminators box.

I'm just saying it's their product they don't owe us low prices. We are not entitled to GW giving us cheaper products.
If they can sell them successfully at this price without losing many sales, I don't see why they should lower them. A company isn't your friend, they are there for profit.

Really? Because you seem to be great friends with them. Companies act in their own interest, we act in our own interest. You want us to also act in the companies interest by being good "shut up and consume" goys. Companies do not need you to act as their spokesperson, who does it for free btw. You are a consumer, stick up for yourself.

Putting the company above the customer is wild. But actually yes, they do owe their customers low prices. Their customers are entitled to cheaper products. Why? Because they sustain the company.
If you disregard your customers and treat them like cattle, you're destroying trust and bleeding yourself out. That's why GW, like all companies with such little respect & reverance for their customers, want to capture new blood (pun intended).
>it's just business
And when you're gone you won't be missed. If you break the human relation between provider and customer, you will be treated as inhumanly as you are treating your customers. As is demonstrated each day.
Now quit shitposting, will you?

Don't listen to sensationalistic retards, they saw a trailer that repeated more or less exactly the same quote 40k has had for 40 years and showed the emperor in different ways, the same it's always been shown inconsistently for 40 years, and somehow deluded themselves into thinking it's some great development or tease or deal.

Why should I "stick up for myself" when I enjoy their services just fien. I'm not a poorfag, I don't mind the prices. I am satisfied with the product quality, which is objectively the highest in the market, I have yet to see examples of better quality minis with lower prices.
I know they don't care about me and I don't care about the individuals there. We are not in a relationship. They make stuff I like, I buy and that's it.

And the answer is never because this same plot hook has been a thing since rogue trader, the presence of the emperor on the throne as a corpse underpins the status quo of the IP, and GW makes too much money to risk damaging the IP with such a change.

Had a concept for a SM color scheme, the grey is supposed to be a metallic paint, the yellow is a gold metallic and the belt should look like leather.
The red gorget around the neck would probably be hell to paint on each individual space marine, maybe it would work better as a Sergeant marking.
Might look better with the actual metallics IRL but not super enthusiastic with the result here.
Also RIP John Blanche.
>>
>>98152400
The new trailer is a statement reinforcing their grimdark shtick. There's no noblebright.
The end times and AoS were made when gw was going under, and even then the most drastic change they had the courage to do with 40k was a new mark of armor for marines and a loyalist primarch.
The emperor is not getting up from the fucking chair.

That's not confirmation. Those are winks for speculation's sake.
Ethereals do not mind control the Tau. Farsight told them no. Surestrike told them no.
The Elemental Council novel has Tau disobeying Ethereals. etc etc etc.

>>

It's not a gotcha, since they are lower quality. Which person designed it is irrelevant, what's relevant is the final state of the product, which GW's is of a noticably higher quality for new sculpts.

Once actually.
After being exposed to COVID and suffering through it, being rendered resistant to it is a godsend.
Fuck your anti-science BS.
But turning the topic back to 40K, Farsight is objectively the good guy, and so are the Tau for raising him to be one.
>>
>>
>>98152501
>the guys making the miniatures, videos and games
You mean the miniatures for tormented souls and broken stormcasts? Or the ones of wizards with contraptions to not go mad or explode their allies? What about the new tower piloted by a prisoner that lives in a cage and is not allowed to see the sun for months af a time? Or the video centered around a stormcast losing themselves and finally getting euthanasia? Oh wait, you mean the game that ends with the hero forgetting their lifelong friend and wholesale genociding the settlement they had just founded to prevent corruption from an artifact that had yet to corrupt anyone? Or do you mean the series where the happy band of protagonists all die or betray each other?
Or maybe you were talking about something else, because I do have more!
>>
>>98152511
Elemental Council actually implied that the Tau felt different around the fake Ethereal. That they felt an kind of emptiness around them compared to normal. Those weren't the exact words but it was in that spirit.

Your story having demons and horrofying things doesn't make it grimdark. If I tell a story about a person and on one page I mention that they were deeply shaken by their sibling being trampled to death, it doesn't make it a dark story. If on the contrary I write a story where everything goes well except the underlying theme is the person is slowly dying of cancer, that's darker, despite the events being wonderful.
A SETTING being GRIMDARK means it's the overall, underlying spirit/theme. That's why orks despite being funny are still grimdark, because at their core they are horrible beings, wrapped in a funny package.
Yes, your setting having shiny angels shoots down the grimdark factor and stomps it. Yes your setting having the main faction be shiny winged golden knights forged with the souls of the greatest warriors with capes decorated with constellations means you're not fucking grimdark. You are brutal, yes, but you're neither grim nor dark.
Eternal war, in itself, isn't grimdark, because it's not inherently bleak.
I'm real tired of faggots telling me things have always been the same and never changed except when they like the change and it's actually a good thing.
You don't know what grimdark is, fuck off.
You don't understand that grimdark isn't appealing to most people, fuck off.
You can't look at the FUCKING LOGO of the game and think
>Gee I wonder if the logo is supposed to tell me something about the setting? Maybe it's gold with a darker blue because it's a bit brutal/dark but still bright very much about heroes or something
Fuck off

>Realistically GW has the best minis on the market, highest detail and overall quality
Highest detail on a wargame miniature does not add value it decrease it.
Same with high count of parts needed to build said models. Do not confuse it with options and additional optional bits like in older GW kits.
Since those two aspect are objectively bad for a wargame miniature the conclusion is GW does not make the best minis in the market.

you are both retarded.
1. the codex was written from an unreliable narrator perspective, the speculation of pheromones or mind control is kind of the imperiums racist take that no alien could believe in a cause that strongly and it must be some sort of nefarious xenos trick (mainly because that's how the imperium does it). It could be true, it could not be true, that's the point, it makes it contentious.
2. The tau absolutely do brainwash people even if its not pheromone or psychic based. when they were released they came with a bunch of stories, 2 out of 3 of the stories were about the T'au creating propaganda, one was about about a war correspondent and also about how they deliberately show specific details to mold the narrative of the battle and white wash the greater good, the other, the next one is of a gue'vesa in a broadcast directed to other imperial worlds in order to subvert them. Again the Tau using propaganda to subvert and control. Even if the story in the message is true, it still shows that the Tau know how to play with alien emotions.
So even without pheromones or psychic powers the tau absolutely 100% brainwash people. they just rely on more realistic traditional means. and clearly their brainwashing works since their soldiers are fairly devoted to their cause, and they have convinced many imperial worlds to abandon the imperium.
Also I always wondered what tau media is like, I expect it to be very star ship troopers do you want to know more? guided teaching, but the implication of a live broadcast is hilarious if it managed to capture a sigil that could act as a gate way to the warp, and suddenly all across a sept you have demons pouring out of TV's.

change name back to dark eldar, drukhari was a ruse by Vect to confuse people.
Bring the Mandrake King in and make a Mandrake lord kit so you can run a bunch of mandrakes the way you run wracks. Also an archon reaver/scourge/hellion option.
>previously unknown aspects
Dark Eldar trade with the mutated daemon worshipers that are sometimes called 'chaos eldar' because they don't give a fuck.
Vect hates Ynnead because if Slaanesh dies then the dark city has no need of vect and will just return to realspace without him. Ynnari cannot take mandrakes, Drazhar or Incubi. Or the Hand of the Archon.
Add a new Harlequin 'troupe' unit of murderers who are drwn from dark eldar ranks and represent figures in eldar myth like murderers and worshipers of khaine.

Knights are a kind of skew-y army to play, if you mean an army of only Knight units. Either your opponent brought enough anti-tank/monster, or they didn't.
Necrons I don't know very well, they are strangely absent in my local communities, but they seem like an army with a lot of variety to build from and they can be as simple or as complex as you like when it comes to painting.

So what are Raptors exactly? The have jump packs, they have pistols and chain swords, they can take a bunch of pseudo power fists but then they can also take a shitload of ranged weapons? Up to 4 special weapons in a squad of 10 so 2 melta and 2 plasma, or 2 flamers. I'm grateful for all the options but what the fuck is their role with all these choices? It seems like GW loves to just throw the kitchen sink at Chaos units. And then if you do take all the options, you're left with one lone guy in a unit of 10 with a chainsword and pistol. Melta and power fists are decent light armor can openers but not a real threat against armor. 4 plasma shots is decent for deleting a marine or two before charging.

You are trying to manufacture a lore reason that doesn't exist to support a game restriction that makes no sense. It's fucking retarded. I have no clue why you would even want this.

Sounds like immense bullshittery if you ask me. The whole thing does really. Mixing TOW and AOS, turning AOS lore into a mix of 40K and TOW, but still continuing TOW.
I think the leakers are some massive AOS haters and they are trying to take the ship down with them, for whatever reason. The "leaks" are just so inflammatory to everyone involved. The last world is a dreadful name as well, it would be like if in 11th edition they called it "The last crusade" when we all know that isn't how this all works

It'd be whatever if it was just one guy but TGA has like 5 different somewhat credible leakers with proven track records and they all agree on the broad strokes of "realms get smushed together, more grimdarkwank, sigmar MIA"
Also it's not getting renamed to "The Last World" it'll still be AoS. TLW is probably going to be a tagline like "sigmar lied" or whatever.
>>
>>
>>
>>98153125
My problem is it'd be hilariously inept to make AoS into WHFB again, especially in human faction overdose in ways WHFB never was. The whole leak sounds like an attempt to pander to a WHFB fanbase that never was, not even the most bitter of grogs who haven't moved on. And this is someone who remembers 8ed as a shitty edition full of infantry blobs because they wanted you to buy more plastic and tons of newbie unfriendly choices that made new players stay away and even old players go away. If they truly go that direction then I would drop any property GW does in an instant. I mean, imagine if 40k said they're squatting 50%+ Xenos factions so they can have even more Imperium armies. Regardless if I played Xenos or Imperium, I'd tell that shit to get back to HH.

That's part of why I'm skeptical on leakers altogether. I see tons of fanbases everyone was like
>THEY WERE RIGHT ALL ALONG
but they were so vague that they're practically pulling some fortune teller barnum effect. Or worse in some gaming communities, they're straight up wrong or changed their leak dozens of times before the release to the point the "true" leak isn't even their final one or they managed to lucky guess it after throwing dozens of crap at the wall until it stuck. And then the same communities have people trying to gaslight you into thinking they guessed perfectly right the "first time".

Fundamentally, what actually changes story-wise if this were to happen? All the realms become "continents" on what I would assume to then be a colossal super-earth sized planet and there's no real need for realmgates since you can sail to other places. And you have firm locations so it falls back into the limitation of Fantasy where you need to make a real justification for why one army is invading some other place and be careful of the kind of damage or changes such an invasion causes.
So it's just Fantasy but with a different map and cow elves.

NTA but IMO not at all. All GW properties have very ill defined boundaries or distances to the point the same army can be charging full speed for a whole day and take a week to get through, then the same army sneaks by slowly and takes a few hours. All of WHFB, 40k, or whatever has the problem where 90% of anything at risk is a new location invented for the story. At very best Cadia was threatened and now New Cadia's a thing or it's WHFB ET so named locations are dropping like flies to the point of bullshit writing. Like this new thing about the fate of some new Hive World.
This also goes for numbers, armies, and one-time named characters. Some Grey Knight sacrificed himself to destroy Angron's weapon, some no-name Chaos Lord was created to be beaten by by another character in their army's codex, etc. It could be a new town, new city for a realm, a new 40k planet, normally it's not too exceptional and writers do it all the time but GW overuses it hard. Just about every other new character has a long list of achievements or obscure background references that never get elaborated like how The Silmarillion explained who Ancalagon the Black whom Gandalf mentioned isn't strong enough to melt the One Ring. They're just said and forgotten.

Totally logical if they are french Kriegers.
"r" for "Regiment" and then "d" for something else, like "RI" (Régiment d'Infanterie) / "RT" (Régiment de Tirailleurs) / "RC" (Régiment de Cuirassiers) etc etc ...
"d" could be "Dragons", so "113eme Régiment de Dragons".
>>
>>98153543
depends. Rules lawyering can be important if it means clearly explaining and following the rules so as to have a fair game.
But based on your examples it sounds more petty. I think its pretty disingenuous to win by taking advantage of an opponents obvious lapse.
That said, being able to just roll with your mistakes will also make you a better player, constantly needing to go back and fix mistakes will just make you kind sloppy and lazy and it can be disingenious if you can benefit from new information (for example, not dropping some infantry someplace, but then firing on a target and realizing that you need their firepower elsewhere and while sure you lapsed in using them, by bringing them on, you're still benefiting) so in this case its best practice to acknowledge your mistakes and use it as a learning moment so that in the future you player cleaner, tighter and faster.

Pretty sure old IG tanks used to have just the commander in the turret. With auto-loaders there was no need for a loader in the turret, so he could just use the main gun and command. Similar to how modern tanks allow the commander to take over for the gunner. But over time IG tanks were made less and less sophisticated.

GW wanted to know if there really was a large following of steel legion fans still kicking.
So they did all this as a test.
My source is crackpipe.

Again, it was pretty great.
A small group of assassins, from different Temples, team up to infiltrate a Knight World and go after their mark.

Me too desu.I felt the Coda was setting up a future plot, which would be cool if they followed through.

I’ll humor your bait.
Give proof that the Krieg flopped.
No your lgs having stocks of krieg boxes doesn’t count because lgs cultures vary.
We know that some aos boxes flopped because of the selling fast meme.
>>98153789
Really? Can I have release dates of this?
Whether yarrick existed before the steel legion doesn’t matter as he is integral to steel legion identity.
>>98153795
Aye they will be worse. I think gw is gonna change their look so they can be better defended in copyright courts.

Not quite an obvious flop if they still sold well.
But I respect what you said either way.

Alright how about the steel legion model releases to show their releases?
The funniest outcome of the steel legion trolling really was just showing that pretending to be retarded is a trolling practice that perseveres to this day oddly enough. Same with “no u” tactics.

40k flavored pong when?
A 40k chess vidya game was actually released. It’s greatest contribution was asset ripping for modifying for gmod models.

Do it anon, and finish the book. I think the story further develops rather well.
>>98153832
I believe it's a combination that fits well, going beyond novelty. One minute the Callidus Assassin is trying to fit in a group, trying to get intel, and in the othershe's going 1v1 with a heretic, in a fight between Knights.
Though if not properly written, it can still be a boring thing.
Still remember how lukewarm I was with picrel.

I had fun reading the book. The characters actually had character and surprising depth, the Knight stuff was cool. Solid 8/10.

>Now I’m starting to feel like James might have been redoing the release of yarrick first
11th is the 2nd Ed Nostalgia bait edition so it would fit to release Yarrick before that, as they did yeah.
His introduction back in late RT also had him getting severely injured before recovering, just like his recent reintroduction with Space Wolves healing him.

Okay, is the Exodites thing really a popular fan request or is it just a handful of autistic weirdos that bring it up at every god damn opportunity? I know Lizardmen are one of the most popular armies in fantasy but I just can't see dino elves being a big seller in a sci-fi shooting game.

Quite fitting then.
>2nd edition nostalgia
They’re probably gonna all get some modifications rather than faithful updates in the name of copyright defense in courts of law.
The rubric marine update was the best update of old models in my opinion.

Anybody worked with the wga the damned models?
They look lovely to me.
So lovely that I might paypig hard and save a sprue of each set to be archived as stls if wga goes under so the models survive.
Are Chainsword and bolt weapons mostly the same size across marines and modern guard models?

it definitely reeks of the "duude, this is so awesome, so metal" thing people say a bit ironically, like how they like over the top 80s stuff, but they really know it's a bit dumb and doesn't have actual lasting appeal

The new Orks look really good. I am not going to spend $250 to start another army. What mini, either official or proxy, would scratch that Orky itch long enough for the hype or FOMO to die down?

allied agents not benefiting from your main army's detachment rules really hurts them. Chunks of your army not being able to receive or give orders, make use of oath of moment, or use faith powers feels bad.
Agent's own book having detachments that don't work against most of the armies in the game also hurts them. The only one that is universal is worse than what most armies have.
The units themselves are not bad, all of their infantry and leaders are good. They just need a real detachment, more than one detachment option, and some sort of heavy weapon. Right now I'm tossing detonation packs 6" and even those are just s9. skull emoji.

>Because they have a 38% profit margin (apple has 10% for comparison)
30-50% gross profit margin is totally normal for retail you do realise?
Apple can sell shit for 10%GP because their prices are obscenely high to begin with, so 10% of $2000 is much better than 38% of a $70 box.
Apple also operates larger economies of scale globally. There are 1.5 billion iPhones active globally, whereas 40k probably has a million players worldwide. It's cheaper to operate factories and sell product when you have an enormous amount of customers to sell to
I'm not totally sticking up for GW because they probably indeed could stand to drop from 38% to 35%, but everything you've said is pretty normal behaviour
>>

>>
>>98153875
Yeah I may as well, I remember really liking the plot though I think I stopped right when the Callidus character interfaced with the knight helm thing. Any other books you'd recommend? I like the cozy "smaller-scale" stuff which is why I picked up Kingmaker in the first place.

I believe the plural of Omnibus is Omniboose
And yes Ahriman has spent the last 10,000 years dicking around the galaxy trying to undo the rubric. He's been failing nonstop because Tzeentch thinks it's funny, I mean because Tzeentch feeds off the struggle and would starve if people actually reached their goals.

Literally the only part of Diablo that isn't grimdark is that the Diablo 2 heroes got neutral endings rather than the shit that happened to the Warrior, Rogue, and Sorcerer from the first game. Diablo to Diablo 3 was in-game 25 years of "And then it got worse" followed by 50ish years of respite between the last season of Diablo 3 and the beginning of Diablo IV.

Pretty women are Uber-verboten in nerd hobbies anon. Doesn’t matter if above average or super model tier pretty. They can never be allowed in any nerd media.
Especially warhammer 40k.
Now be grateful you even get female models at all in 40k as James might take those away if a single chud finds out how to headswap.
>>
>>98154601
But why? Why is James actively opposed to appealing women in their setting?
>dude it's le grimdark you can't expect them to wearing makeup and shit
Right but their males are appealing, no homo, despite the constant war
>>
>>
File: 2F277252-1EC3-4AAC-BCB1-F25629283F6F.jpg (22.0 KB)
>>98154612
The reasons James is opposed is probably because it means having to invest in better sculpting tech that might mean having to get the good stuff gunpla companies have.
And also culture war stuff. There are very vocal crowds that believes that even above average female faces is problematic for a variety of reasons so some companies just make all the women ugly but men just fine.
It might be a lot worse in the vidya industry.
But for the most part like most vidya you can “mod” the stuff and in this case warhammer 40k models to have proper female faces via third party heads that don’t need da Vinci tier painting skills to make the faces look attractive.
It just sucks having to search for solutions that shouldn’t be prevalent in the product as the product should be fine on its own.
So in other words for a variety of reasons nerd companies are enticed to sell female models where their ugly beads are a bug and then the consumer has to look for solutions like mods but as 3rd party heads to fix.
This same company also always sells the same game with slight modifications every few years.
Sound familiar?

Fem custodians and like world governors/ their daughters should be classical/conventionally attractive. Custodians being all super models handsome/beautiful fits them compared to the monsterous space marines who should be scarred, face half replaced and ugly brutes

Hey everyone, collage anon here!
Here is the May collage. The theme was " Big Dudes".
Sorry it took a while, I had some real life stuff I had to deal with that couldn't wait. Sometimes I wish I could just live under a rock and paint all day.
Anyway, great models as usual! 23 submissions, not bad at all. Every month can't be huge like last one.
Quick and nimble won the vote, as usual its up to you to interpret it as you want.
On that note I just found out about John Blanche's passing. I think we should have "blanchistu" be an additional optional theme this month in his memory. Hope that's cool with everyone.
Feel free to leave your suggestions, questions and feedback.
Until next time!

To my knowledge kill team got done dirty pretty badly in recent editions so I can’t be too sure if it ever will be the de facto edition.
Which I think is a shame as James could have made kill team a high quality ruleset with a cheaper entry point price to get people into the warhammers.
But then again if it was a genuinely good and fun rules system then it would get chucked into the Horus heresy setting to not overtake 40k.
This is probably why epic came back as an hh setting as if it was 40k it might mog 40k rules wise and then overtake main 40k in sales.

Anybody here make 40k terrain?
I remembered urban ruins and was thinking of a “middle ground” between the waacfag modular fair terrain and looking serviceable.
Would diy “rubble piles” integrated with the quickly painted terrain work with the rubble piles colored in a way that matches closely to the color of the game mat?
I’m just thinking of retard proof ways to quickly make and paint terrain.
