The trailer isn't at all representative of the show's humor. Besides the shitting scene at the very beginning there have been no lolsorandumb jokes so far. The writing's solid, the characters speak like what you'd expect from medieval fantasy and they don't act like californians unlike in that other GoT spin-off.

The whole Egg talking to the horse and the horse nodding back to him as if he could understand; and the knight that shows up as if he is Odin wandering amongst men. There is no reason to think the Fossoway will not be educated given he is a noble, and even the smallfolk probably have some recent history knowledge or a folklore knowledge. The Targaryens and there rule is not normal for Westerosi standards. The Targaryens are sibling fuckers. It is a house that produces comically evil or incompetent figures like Maegor the Cruel and Aegon the Unworthy, and now Brightlame. In 200 years there has been two massive civil wars due to them that could have been avoided. Lotta normies are a bit confused because they don't know about the Blackfyre rebellion. You can follow the story without knowing it, but it is still some important lore to know, like why Baelor is beloved, why Maekor resents him, why some people are wary of the Targs and their wars, what was the song Egg was singing. His song was a hint and some people thought he meant Daemon the Rogue Prince, rather than the Blackfyre bastard.
I hope they explain it better next episode.

The climax will be Baelor being hurt. He's gonna be shown sympathetic enough for him to take a big blow to the head and then the episode ends. Next episode is Dunk and Aerion finishing the fight. We have Baelor funeral, Aerion being exiled, Maekar allowing Egg to leave and finished with them both leaving for adventures.

Westeros has been exchanging people from the Summer Isles for hundreds of years. The problem with HotD wasn't that there were black people in it (there were canonical black people around at the time, and a number of characters who could have been used), it's that instead of using Black people from and in the lore they replaced a Valyrian-Blooded Noble Dynasty with Black people for no reason.
