>FAQ:
>Q: How often should I long rest?
>A: Many companion and romance interactions occur when long resting. Some early lower priority camp scenes can also be missed if higher priority ones are queued. To advance companion quests or romances, make sure to long rest often.
>Q: Can I recruit Minthara without going down the evil path?
>A: If you knock her out in Act 1, yes. You do miss out on the sex scene, but otherwise the romance remains the same.
>Q: Underdark or Mountain Pass?
>A: Either, or both. It's recommended to clear both on higher difficulties for the experience and loot. Both connect to the same Act 2 map.
>Q: Is The Dark Urge essentially "Tav+"?
>A: Yes. You get additional content, BUT there are points where, if you've chosen to resist the Urge and/or don't complete quests the "right" way, you'll have to pass additional checks to avoid losing companions.
>Q: Are there any consequences to consuming tadpoles?
>A:No, for the most part. However if you've consumed any tadpoles, there will later be a DC 21 Wisdom check to reject the Astral-Touched Tadpole, which affects your appearance if consumed.
>Q: Should I enable Karmic Dice?
>A: Karmic Dice will avoid streaks of low rolls, both for you and the enemy. It is recommended to disable it if you're specializing.

According to the DnD chart drows can't reproduce with gnomes or dwarfs, and humans can't either. There is a half-dwarf race in Dark Sun but it's created by evil sorcerers and the birthing process is usually fatal to the human mother.

Durge is an actual character in the story
Tav is a Barbie that doesn't really exist in the story that's there for whiny babies who can't handle playing a character with a horrible past life on a redemption arc

Drizzt being canon doesn't mean every word in Salvatore's books is the word of Shar. This is not even touching on the fact that the lore has always been fluid and is subject to change in the future. The canon society of Menzoberranzan is defined by the latest sourcebooks, not Salvatore's wet dream from forty years ago.

These barely-sentient creatures take refuge in crass stupidity. They hide behind willful ignorance, because to admit even something as trivial as a typo or minor grammatical error would require accountability. There is a pattern with Mintharafag haters.

Gortash is actually kinda funny. He's the guy who follows the tyrannical god of ruling over everyone with an iron fist, and yet, he's the only honest motherfucker in the chosen trio.
Ketheric and Durge were both plotting betrayal while Gortash is more than willing to be chill and work with others as long as they aren't stupid pushovers.

My last interaction with him was the coronation so I don't know what happens next, but before that I sneaked into his living quarters to read his journal and notes lying aroundplus to steal the two uniques to make a point. While he considers it a natural outcome that eventually he, a true Banite would control all stones and treat the party as useful vagabonds to bepitted against Orin so you'd bring him the other two Netherstoneshe still says he would find "suitable positions" for you and your allies in the new world order afterwards.
Could this be an ironic remark about the premeditated death sentence of your party once you outlive your usefulness? Sure, but why would he switch phrasing in his own journal while writing about much more important matters in an honest and straightforward manner throughout the text? Gortash comes across as an LE ruler who generally values competence and mostly uses subterfuge as a means to get shit done. He knows he can't do everything by himself, so as long as you contribute his reign without being an explicit threat I think he's fine with cooperation.

He's honest about the alliance proposal, you can confirm it with detect thoughts or via the Emperor. Thus I doubt he'd execute you afterwards. Bane himself used to encourage backstabbing to cull the weak among his followers before the Time of Troubles, but started to value trustworthiness after returning.

>wait long years until the ultimate end-of-support Patch 8 drops

>dozens of items are still bugged or have their effects implemented in dubious ways
My Honor run will be a brutally efficient meat grinder. This kind of shit doesn't fly with single-save runs and especially not in that amount.

I saw Orin at a circus in Rivington yesterday. I told her how cool it was to meet her in person, but I didn't want to be a tadpole and bother her by asking for an autograph or anything. She said, "So you're the lickspittle who crushed the Bone Lord's thrall." I was taken aback, and all I could say was "Whuh?" but she cut me off with "Have you come beg-begging, sniffing for our stones?" and started waving her hand in front of my face. I didn't know what to reply, and she started to cackle. "When you find the lordling, tell him Orin is watching," she said, before twisting her ring and disappearing.

>left is a legacy character's exact original statline
>it switches to right as soon as he joins us
Now This Is What I Call Bullshit! I understand left cannot be replicated by the game's char creator but why didn't they pick the closest thing to it? Let's say 15 (+2)/15/15/8/8/8(+1)? It's not like origin companions don't need a Feat to fix their odd numbers!
This is probably some default Ranger statline alongside with the Favoured Enemy and Natural Explorer options. Or are these options randomized during each time you pick Ranger in the creator? We'll see. Then it's time to build him from the ground up!

It's been pretty much over for months, ever since the parasite started shitposting about Larian's Next Game with complete impunity. I've been called a schizo for merely calling out its obnoxious behavior (see >>555529085). The parasite is still spamming off-topic garbage right now. It is what it is. Either you have enough people left that care about a place, or it slowly becomes a cesspool where low-effort shitposting is not only tolerated but enabled.

Pictures of dragonfreaks (>>555812167, >>555813369, >>555813581, >>555814070) are slop, yes. The entire race (disease) exists solely to cater to a fetish. It is devoid of culture, history, or a narrative place in the world. It is no surprise that the parasite hates elven beauty and prefers the ugliness of such a freak race (disease), because the parasite is unable to understand the value of culture or history. At the risk of repeating myself, there is a pattern.

Every time someone mentions Minthara, Shadowheart, Karlach, Lae'zel, or even Astarion, it must be Mintharafag. Every time someone praises the beauty of elves or drow, it must be Mintharafag. Every time a post is more than four sentences long, it must be Mintharafag. Every time a Tav has short hair, it must be Mintharafag, for short hair was invented by Mintharafag. Annah and Imoen and Leliana were designed by Mintharafag. I can't stop thinking about Mintharafag and what they're currently doing. I wake up and go to sleep thinking about Mintharafag. I start BG3 playthroughs dedicated to getting Mintharafag's attention. But I am not obsessed with Mintharafag or anything.

Which is horseshit thematically, Warlocks are half casters but a dude playing an instrument has the same proficency in casting spells as a guy that dedicated his entire life and studies to learning them (Wizards)?
That was the laziest solution possible by WotC to make bards good.

Thematically, classes are differentiated by more than the number of their spell slots or source of magic. A Wizard is not a Sorcerer is not a Bard is not a Warlock is not a Cleric is not a Druid. Each class is distinct, and each would be offended if mistaken for another.

There's no "better" but I prefer Insight. Intimidation is governed by CHA, meaning anybody who does party face things (mostly Persuasion, but also some Deception) excels in it. On top of that martials more often have Proficiency in it that not (Soldier background and being Half-Orc alone ensure that). So while it appears more frequently as the part of the big 3 "convince people to do shit" CHA skill it's also easier to cover and rarely used to access hidden / exclusive information or solution.
Insight is WIS based which covers a wide range of other skills (most crucially Perception but Survival also pops up every know and then) and generally more aimed at noticing body language and emotions. If you pass it usually adds an extra dialogue option that lets you proceed. Almost all classes can be proficient but it's mostly worth for WIS casters (Druids, Rangers, Clerics) and Monks. There's also way less items that help with Insight checks, so lacking a specialist might hit harder.

It is pretty funny. I haven't posted here in days and my last post was about which act 3 bosses are the most fun. Yet this guy has been ranting about how much he hates Minthara for dozens of posts and how every post he doesn't like is me. He's genuinely crazy.

Dropping stuff from your inventory is a free action in this game, and mage hand can throw objects. So you can drop a health potion as a free action and then on the hand's turn it can throw it on n ally for free healing. You can do the same thing with other objects, throwing objects at enemies. It doesn't have much strength for direct damage, but you can throw stuff like grease and oil and fire etc to set up. Summoning it before the fight starts even saves you the action of summoning it, so it becomes truly free.
It is slightly cheesy to do this though, since dropping stuff from your inventory is not actually a free action. Dropping from your hand is a free action, but rummaging through your pack is not a free action. You could say you have a specially designed belt or bandolier that has your potions arrayed in a way that lets you ditch them on the ground without interrupting what you're doing, I've had people do that on tabletop, but in that case I had them actually pay a tailor for the special bandolier at least as an entry cost, which bg3 doesn't have. So it's up to you decide what is cheesy and what is not, and what enhances your gameplay experience and what might make it too easy. Hell, at this point, I don't even use Magical Pockets at all, it's one of my self-imposed rules.

Right, but that need not determine the rest of your canon. The starting party in BG2 is as arbitrary as the game assigning the player classes that cover the basics.
>Gorion's Ward
The protagonist of BG1 and BG2 is called CHARNAME. "Gorion's Ward" is the soulless, nondescript label for the Bhaalspawn in WotC canon.

Actually, that's quite incorrect. BG1 and BG2 take place in 1368-1369 DR, with CHARNAME being twenty years old at the start of their journey. Dragonborn - or dragonfreaks, as I prefer to call them - were transplanted from Abeir to Toril during the Spellplague, which started in 1385 DR. Thus, CHARNAME couldn't possibly have been a dragonfreak. You also don't "ascend" a person. That's semantically incorrect. I know you're too stupid and proud of your ignorance for this post to register, but maybe it'll be helpful to others.

I've got an EK as my party face right now and it's been fine. I'm okay with not steamrolling through every encounter by dialogue alone, but even at 12 CHA and taking a background that gives proficiency in at least one dialogue skill, plus a party member giving Guidance it's been good so far. For Friends you just need to warp back to camp as soon as you're done with the dialogue to avoid any hostility.

Tbf, GOOlocks rarely actually get the attention of the GOO even once. Usually it's more like using some fucked up ritual to sap some of that power, like running up to them with a syringe and extracting the magic because they're so big they won't even notice.

This, however, is a viable concept. A Battle Masters needs analytical skill to evaluate the situations, knowing famous battles deepens his knowledge and the ability to read people is also crucial in his line of work.

...Because I've proclaimed no such thing. Announcing reports, as you well know, is against the rules. Since the topic of the moment during these dead hours was the (prophesied) death of the general, I thought it appropriate to remind others that generals die not due to a lack of activity - which can be artificial or low-quality - but due to apathy. There are plenty of generals where a thread can take a week to hit the bump limit, and they're doing fine. /bgg/ will be fine as long as we discuss Baldur's Gate. Here is Bodhi from Baldur's Gate 2. This is a Baldur's Gate General and you question 100% belongs here. The abundance of BG3 content can be attributed to the recency and popularity of the game.
As for your question you might find something similar in a major mod compilation like the Tweaks Anthology (https://www.gibberlings3.net/mods/tweaks/tweaks/) but it's not too likely.
There are armor(s) in the games that allow spellcasting (e..g Elven Chain Mail) but to be able to do thief things on top of that? That'd be way over the top. Maybe ask in /crpgg/ if they know any mod like this.

Do you think Minthara started to have second thoughts while she was running up to all the explosive barrels
>>
>>556014802
But Inquisitor W'wargaz is also wearing the very same stock Half-Plate as any bottom of the barrel gate guard...
>>556017028
Interesting, thanks for sharing your findings! I guess all this stems from the fact that setting up the plan with Minthara starts or updates the "Raid the Emerald Grove" quest. The order of operations is to talk to Zevlor, blow the horn, then Minthara shows up and you have to decide if you open the gates for her (Absolute forces turn to allies, Tieflings to enemies) or defend the Grove (the opposite). However, the default state once you have the quest appears to be that you're going against the Grove. The defenders are not auto-hostile so you can interact with Zevlor and change your mind, but that doesn't mean the devs applied the same condition to other NPCs. And getting into a fight with any hostile NPC can turn the rest in the same location against you as well. Despite the physical separation I think this is what happened here.
>>556018463
Heh, I guess they just fell out of your back pocket on your way back to the Grove, right?
>>
>>556018671
Maybe Tska'an can be trusted with better armor because she's pacted to Vlaakith so her power is conditional on her loyalty. Wwargaz and Har'rak aren't warlocks (apparently most inquisitors are and they're supposed to become her clerics once she achieves godhood) so in theory even they are not as reliable.

I could see that. I just kind of assumed the Tieflings and the Druids were counted behind the scenes as, like, two separate factions since they can kill each other
>>
>Bone-shaking Thunder on Markoheshkir:
>When [the entity] deals spell damage, it inflicts 2 turns of Reverberation upon the target.
>Boots of Stormy Clamour:
>When the wearer inflicts a condition upon a hostile creature, they also inflict 2 turns of Reverberation.
Has anybody tried this? I'm knee-deep in building two chars and don't have the time to test it right now. The theory is the following: spell damage from cantrip triggers the 1st, which applies 2 turns of Rev, which is a condition and thus triggers the 2nd which adds another 2 rounds.
In short if you land a cantrip under these conditions the target should receive 4 Rev right off the bat. I don't know if there's a "one time per turn" limit on them but you might potentially be able to overload this, as 5 Rev means Prone (after a failed saving throw) and that's also a condition.
>>
>>556019485
Spineshudder amulet + boots of stormy clamor on my warlock made me not get xp when killing enemies with eldritch blast, something to do with reverberation damage hitting them at 0 hp and not counting as mine. If you're already at 12 it's not an issue though.
>>
>>556018968
Good point. The nature of the relationship between a supposed Goddess and her devotee and a Warlock and it's patron is slightly different. Too bad we can't verify if the Psionic Ward is a one-of-a-kind armor or the standard gear for Warlocks.
>>556019165
Absolutely, it reflects the Gith martial superiority. All I'm saying is that we should have had more variants in terms of quality. Maybe even additional types based on rank or class! As homogeneous they appear there's differences to cover here.
>>556019282
The Druids are a background faction in that conflict, as it's always the Tieflings who defend the Grove against aggressors. They're only involved in the "Investigate Kagha" quest in way where they can be divided by player actions. It'd be interesting to see how far the first gate fight (with Aradin, Wyll and the goblins) can spread if the defenders are dead without player interference. My guess is that the whole Grove is neutral (yellow) against the player by default and that's being switched (outside of Zevlor and his comrades) to hostile once the raid quests starts. If you want to exterminate every living soul inside that's a common problem after all.

No, I'm playing as Tav but added Shart to the party for the first time since the very end of Act 2. After respeccing I'm picking and dyeing gear for her now, which means I'm controlling her just like I would my Tav. The pic above was the result of my attempt to see how her armor would look like in dialogues. Except there were no dialogues as my followers refused to talk to Shart as she's technically not the avatar of the party.
>>556030341
>>556030358
There's a tad more nuance to the situation. Camp followers function as expected but the rest depends on Tav's distance to the NPC. If he's close enough he gets dragged into the conversation and everything plays out as if Tav initiated the whole thing. If not, that's when these hilarious scenarios happen. Sort of like when you want to talk to an NPC as one of your party members (e.g. Wyll at Yurgir's introductory scene for that delicious [WARLOCK] check) but the game forces Tav to be the speaker. What do you do? You separate your group, send Tav to the other side of the map and suddenly it's possible to use the currently active party member in his place. Here you can see the same mechanics at play.

I'm not sure which is less restrictive, ancients or devotion. You can also RP a good oathbreaker who had to break his oath because of some ethics dilemma, Oathbreaker Knight himself broke his oath by killing his liege but his liege ordered him to do evil shit so he was in a bind. Easier to do in-game with Durge since you can RP the oathbreaking event as a spontaneous coldsteel moment.

Because the Blinded has to rely on his other sense organs to be able to perform a such precision action as a martial attack or spellcasting? Kagha's also the only one in the grove who actually likes drow. The guards at the stairs next to Arabella's parents are mad at drow even if you are a fellow druid, the player even has a line about being a druid first, drow second but it doesn't matter.
>>
>>556066746
Bless is good from level 1 to 12. That said, your Cleric can start to rely less on the Concentration version once they reach level 5 and unlock Mass Healing Word, which pairs very well with the Whispering Promise.
>>
>>556066746
First, it's impact diminishes as you gain levels and stack Attack Roll bonuses (the Saving Throws remains roughly the same). Don't be afraid. Strong builds don't need Bless to be effective.
Second, how many times you need 10 full rounds of it? Most encounters don't last that long, which brings us to the next point.
Third, Whispering Promise plus Healing Potion of your choice. Thrown, not consumed. It only gives everybody in the AoE 2 turns of Bless but such potions are cheap and healing never hurts.
Fourth, make use of your resources. The Arcane Blessing staff from the Arcane Tower comes with a (double) Bless per Long Rest. Or the Amulet of Restoration with it's similar Healing Word and Mass Healing Word spells. It adds up!
Fifth, fights with NPC allies are a different cup of tea. There you WILL need the healing (often Mass Healing spells) and Bless from the WP ring combo to keep them alive.

The Spirit Guardians and Radiating Orb combo is only effective relative to how many (melee) enemies it can tag. It could be argued that it often becomes a win-more combo in a sense - groups of melee attackers are not particularly dangerous in BG3 unless they all rush an ally you want to protect, like Isobel. The combo doesn't really do anything against ranged attackers or a high-priority single target. Bless would still be the better spell to Concentrate on against, say, the Apostle of Myrkul.

Yes it does, you just need to get close enough to them to tag them with the AoE. Since it's a mobile AoE that stays centered on the caster that's very easy to do.

Look up builds with equipment recommendations and just follow it! Hopefully not ones where they just give you a list of gear from end of act 3 bosses. The best if it's separated into acts or you're given multiple alternatives.

Which one should I play?
>>
>>
>>556123884
The one you haven't played before. Seriously, being open to new classes and mechanics can help keeping up the novelty. Out of your list Draconic Sorc and Fighter (if you disregard the Champion subclass) is definitely the strongest. That's not saying the rest is not worth playing or would get you stuck anywhere, so don't worry. There's no "bad" classes in the game, even the weakest ones only feel mediocre compared to the others instead of being unplayable.
If you plan to recruit companions and want to avoid "duplicates" Sorcerer is the best option. CHA based class so you can be the party face and trader, it's not covered by anybody (and there's only one full arcane caster companion and only one with a CHA class), it has interesting mechanisms and great might. For the record you'll come across a Barbarian (Berserker), a Rogue (Arcane Trickster), a Fighter (Battle Master) and a Warlock (The Fiend) you can recruit.

>Feel free to ask if you have any questions,
Actually I do have another question. I keep hearing Shadowheart's initial Cleric domain is actually the shittiest one of all and everyone says to respec. Any recommendations for which one to pick then?
>>
>>
>>
>>556128074
I wouldn't respec if that's your first run. Her domain is indeed one of the weakest but it thematically fits like a glove for her Goddess (who can't be picked by the player) and religion is an important part of her personality.
The only domain that belongs to her deity is Death, which is okay but nothing special. In terms of the big picture it doesn't matter that much. If you don't care about anything but power Tempest can indeed be devastating.

The following is what I eventually came up with.
>Favoured Enemy: Mage Breaker
Magic plays a pivotal role in Rashemen culture and their leadership, and Minsc had opportunities to face extraordinary mages himself. In practice this is just a Proficiency: Arcana as he doesn't cast spells. (IIRC he's not even capable of due to his limited mental capabilities.) The only alternative here was Bounty Hunter, which was essentially a Proficiency: Investigation for the reasons listed above, but Minsc and any INT based activity...
>Natural Explorer: Wasteland Wanderer: Cold
Evident for a Rashemaar.
>Fighting Style: Defence / Spells: Speak with Animals, Longstrider, Enhance Leap
+1AC is the most fitting option here. As for spells I only picked the Ritual ones. A fine compromise even if I'll never use any of them. Not to mention SwA was present on his original sheet as well.
>Hunter’s Prey
Larian envisioned him as a Hunter with Horde Breaker (see >>555907216) but I'm heavily leaning towards the "Body Type 4 human against a Huge monster" concept than the "chopping two blocks of firewood with a two-hander". This captures his character and fighting style much better imho. Giant Killer might be closer to this out of the two remaining options but it's implementation makes it a questionable choice, while Colossus Slayer is a great alternative and not only because it's name.

Minsc should realistically be a berserker because that's literally his role in Rashemi society and the whole reason he left home with the witch Dynaheir was to do a traditional pilgrimage and earn the right to join a berserker lodge
and not having a rage is dumb because entering mad uncontrolled rages is his whole thing as a berserker from Rashemen

I don't want it, it just is. She has a confirmed sexual interest in both Orin and Tavette, and she comes from a culture where casual sex (and betrayal) among women is encouraged and common. Ironically despite being a drow Minthara is probably the most sexually pure of the romance options, and is by far the most lesbian-coded.

Of course, I didn't claim that either interpretation was wrong. It's like with his Favoured Enemy: if there was a perfect option that incorporated both Gnolls and Vampires I'd have picked that one. But there wasn't, so I went with what I felt was the next best thing.
>>556146518
Indeed, his Rage must be inspired by (as you can see at >>556130360) the Feralan kit. Without going into the usual debates why he ended up as a Ranger that's his canon class for decades and I always respected that. I stopped with my Ranger selections above as I multiclassed him to a Berserker Barbarian for the remaining 8 levels. There was a compromise to be made here as Rage doesn't work with Plate (or any Heavy) Armor but I have my eyes on a Medium-level solution already.

You're not wrong. But you're also diminishing your point by using a loaded term like "lesbian-coded." Female drow don't form brief, let alone long-lasting, relationships with males, as these are pleasure slaves at best. Yet, you wouldn't describe every female drow in Lolthite society as "lesbian-coded." That would be fatally stereotyping. If we do away with alignment discussion - "Neutral Evil" on its own cannot encapsulate Minthara, any more than "Lawful Neutral" can encapsulate Lae'zel - then we also ought to refrain from assigning sexual identity labels. Minthara likely has a preference for women. That is enough.

When I call out the swine for its idiotic misinterpretation of the timeline, it's because I care about the facts. When I call out the swine for being subhuman and joking about Astarion being raped, it's because I care about basic human decency. All of these are the foundations necessary for healthy discussion of the game - otherwise, we normalize slop, cheating, lying, and low-quality shitposting. The creature itself is irrelevant, and being obsessed with it would be off-topic.
>It's fairly easy, see: when Cazador sent Astarion to the kennel to punish him, do you think Godey boned him?
>It's a silly double entendre, as "boned" usually refers to a sexual act, but since Godey is a skeleton and when know he has beaten Astarion, the joke becomes a textbook example of absurdism.
Subhuman.

Known Bugs (READ ME):
Grymforge Map transition: Reduce your party size to 4 members before sailing with the boat. If you already used it and your characters are stuck, dismiss the ones that are with you and sail back and forth to unstuck the rest. Note: After using the boat a timed quest is triggered and going to camp will progess it.
Some quest or important items aren't registered correctly if they are carried by a fifth or higher party member. So make sure your first 4 party members carry any important items.
Camp sleeping bug: Use one of the awake companions and talk to Lae'zel, use a camp chest or reduce your party size to 4 before resting.
Some ingame events are simply hardcoded for 4 party members and will glitch out. This is usually solved by either dismissing the additional members/players or by teleporting back and forth.

Oh, there's enough then: when you have more than four members in the party, the game randomly chooses (I think, or maybe it's related to their placement in the team) the people who will be present with their models, but this doesn't mean that others won't join. So it happens that you read the lines of dialogue without actually having the character's voice and model. There was a mod that fixed this, but it's no longer compatible with the latest patches.
Also, there are quite a few pathfinding issues; some sections don't really allow a large party.

Damn, it's almost as if the game is balanced around a party of four and the narrative expects your party not to be an entire circus troupe. So terribly sorry you're running into issues in your attempt to break the game like a worthless cheater. Just focus on the payoff - you get to brag about cheating like an attention whore.

If we need a companion for every race I would do:
They can stay:
Elf: Astarion
Human: Gale
Half-elf: Shart. Jaheira stays for nostalgia points.
Githyankeeee: Laezel
Tiefling: Karlach
New:
Gnome: Barcus. While I think he is hideous he is the most developed gnome character and our buddy.
Drow: Nere. Female drow are overdone and this general would be sparred from Thisobald's inceldom.
Dragonborn: Quill. Bard cause Karlach took the tief spot from Alfira.
Halfling: The only major Halfling character is Roah.. so sure. The wiki says she's bard what the.
Dwarf: Hope...? There's not a lot of cool dwarf npcs ingame, I like Nettie but Jaheira is the drood. Also the problem is Hope comes very late game.

We don't. A companion's race is not a fucking diversity checkbox. A good cast doesn't need to be weighed down by a corporate need for "representation." Of course, to the swine or the parasite that doesn't give a shit about companions beyond slopping them up or shitting on them, that becomes an appealing proposition. Turn the cast into a Critical Role party with midgets and freak races, so that it might attract the tumblr crowd. There is a pattern with your kind.

Fire is one of the worst damage types, since so many enemies are resistant (if not outright immune) to it. It's fine if you want to build around it, but don't expect stellar results. As the anon above said, it can be a thematic option for Karlach, since she's already resistant to fire, and can even cleave as a Tiger Heart Barbarian.
>>
>>556179942
>>556180998
I never gave Heat gear a shot throughout the game as it never seemed to worth it. Then I came across Hellfire Greataxe and it got me thinking: now I have everybody maxed out; easily accessible Fire Resistance, some items that auto-heal every turn or grant extra damage if we're below full HP. And if I'm not mistaken the self-damage is 1d4 regardless of the number of Heat Convergences (max 7).

>Throwing around meme buzzwords like "representation" and "diversity" when it's pretty clear it's not about being woke
I never implied it was, so this is an irrelevant tangent. "Diversity" and "representation" can convey a different meaning in this fictional context, hence the quotation marks. The parasite yearns for a "diverse" cast because it is unable to care about the companions beyond a surface level. Respecting the setting means that some races are inevitably going to be more represented than others, with humans and (half-)elves naturally being more common than dragonfreaks or half-orcs. A narrative that respects itself doesn't owe you one companion per playable race - that would be forced and perfunctory "representation." Minthara isn't just there because the game needed a drow - she's there because she was part of a plan to lure drow warriors, namely one from a powerful house.
https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Attracting_Drow_Exiles#Text
If you care about the narrative, every piece should naturally fall into place. Therefore, you wouldn't be able to swap a noble drow daughter with some lowly male drow like Nere Who Fails.
>Racial abilities are a thing, you know.
This is an incredibly weak non-argument. Astarion has a bite ability because he's a vampire. Karlach can consume soul coins to empower herself because she has an infernal engine for a heart. Minthara has a special ability related to her status as a former True Soul commander. These are all related to their characters, not whatever racial abilities the PHB assigns. In my defense of the narrative and the companions, your retort is to say Quil (with one "l") would have been super interesting as a bard companion because she can breathe a cone of cold. Clearly, writing actual characters is overrated.

You did just that when you said dumb stuff like "diversity checkbox" and "weighed down by a corporate need for "representation." "
Words having meaning, and all that jazz
Your example of Origin characters having special unique OC donut steel gimmicks is exactly what people have been complaining about Tav, and how there's little to no way to make a character truly unique: Warlocks not having interactions with their Patrons in the way Wyll does with Mizora, not being able to play as a vampire/dhampir, can't have a familiar the way Gale has Tara, etc.
And the two things can co-exist, you know.
so maybe you just have some personal reason to dislike dragonborns, dwarves, gnomes and halflings.

The "dumb stuff" I mentioned is highlighted by a soulless show like Critical Role that exists to sell shirts and appeal to the tumblr crowd with half-orc romances and freak races. You failed to make the connection even though I made it as straightforward as possible. I have no inclination to waste more time with an illiterate moron that reads words like "diversity" and "representation" and jumps to the conclusion that I'm making an assessment of how "woke" or not BG3 is. >>
An age difference alone doesn't indicate grooming, you stupid fuck. Does a romanced Minthara automatically groom a 20-year-old Tav because she's at least 220 years young? The power imbalance is uncomfortable, but it also does not indicate grooming on its own. I addressed this in a post, about two months ago:
https://arch.b4k.dev/vg/thread/548047508/#548064738
>Also, we're talking about a goddess and a mere mortal - it's amusing to think that this inherent imbalance is apparently less significant to some than any arbitrary age difference that would suddenly make it acceptable.
Gale is someone who is defined by human hubris. His predicament is his own doing, as he readily admits himself. Mystra explicitly warned him against dabbling into dangerous magic, yet he refused. There is no manipulation let alone grooming there. Only something incredibly stupid would miss the point this badly. There is a pattern.

Huh. This indicates the player visited the Inn, which is only possible (correct me on this one if you have conflicting first-hand experience as I never did it myself!) if you didn't raid the Grove. Or maybe it doesn't mean anything as we're talking about WotC. What makes this one different?
Mol's default appearance was altered. Or rather a late-stage one was used instead. If she has an option - which practically equals "being alive" - shealways takes Raphael's dealregardless of player input. But she has to get there and that one is influenced by player decisions.

You either solve the puzzle (middle of the room around those motive, I guess?) or spot a hidden level in the area I marked with Teal. Traditionally yes. The 4 member party (or 3 companions) works in BG3 because the game was designed around it. They've been using the same mold since the original D:OS. I bet multiplayer also plays a big part in this formula.

The classic RPG party is Fighter, Rogue, Cleric and Wizard. Arcane and Divine casters are suppose to be distinct. Nowadays the waters are so muddied in DnD that it doesn't matter much.

>game literally released in 2023
>somehow looks worse than skyrim with texture packs, let alone high poly face / body mods
I know it's top down and all, but I wish they had went with an artstyle like Divinity OS games

As Halsin and Shadowheart fall deeper for each other, he takes the lead as the MC running the party. His team rarely includes you so most of the game is sitting at camp with Gale and the pets and Withers asking about your relationship.
Cut scenes with them sharing a tent, laughing and playing all through the night while you try to sleep next to "gassy Gale".
The game proceeds this way where you get to hear about all the things they're doing in the world until they solve the crisis and live together in marital bliss, hiring you on as a caretaker (since you weren't involved much, you aren't entitled to much of the spoils)
"I'm.... I'm really happy for you two" you manage to get out with a weak smile at their wedding
They smile politely and look at eachother
"Oh, Astarion! Ahh, please do excuse us" Shadowheart says, leading Halsin away as you try to look casual standing alone by yourself.

>Surprised by Spectator
>Immediately fears the Barbarian rooting him outside of melee range
>Unpetrifies a Drow that casts Darkness on the party
>Proceeds to one-shot the Bard with a Wounding Ray on every subsequent turn
Thankfully the Drow all broke free of its charm on their first turn otherwise that would've gone real bad real fast.

Resizing portraits is not hard. Have you checked Nexus though? It has stuff like this: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate2ee/mods/117 or https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursga te2ee/mods/49 . Both should be compatible with all BG:EE games.
