Honestly surprised SM64 Co Op games ever got off the ground in the first place. Well, I guess they barely did. Every single time anyone has ever suggested /smbg/ do some kind of group activity it gets shot down. To the point that people don't even bother anymore. When's the last time someone tried to get a game of Mario Kart going, for instance? I remember when another anon was trying to get people to play classic Mario games with some browser based multiplayer emulator. Absolutely zero takers. And let's not forget the people who complain whenever the /vg/ cup rolls around. How about the collab pictures? Only one ever got done, then any calls for more got shot down as "/kdg/ shitposters invading."
I recall a few people having a bit of a fit when SM64 Co Op information was added to the OP, which of course has now been taken down anyway.

And again, it's overall more cohesive because every track in the level (main theme, pit theme, mystery theme, grubba's theme, rawk hawk's theme, macho grubba's theme and macho grubba's fight) are all cohesively rock/blues inspired.
with Glitzville in the remake, it bounces around genres too much, so you have Grubba's bluesy theme playing after the most ching-chong-ping-pong erhu in the world.
