And even after taking up gamedev I failed at it a lot. Had to cancel a really long in development game. Seeing all that time just go down the drain sucks. Idk where you live but if there are plenty of indie companies that hire than this might be a good idea just to prove competency. Odds are they will have you wear multiple hats for the job.

After seeing what the other anon said I think it may be a good idea for you provided it's at least a job that is in the programming/gamedev field. Though if you're willing to get any job the use of said game might have different levels of effectiveness. For example if you end up applying for a job waging in a grocery store, probably a good idea not to share it, I suspect they will think you're autistic if you do that though aboomer might think you're hard working due to doing that in your free time and hire you.

Most of what I see are hiring "juniors" with hardline requirements of AAA experience shipping multiple titles and in the role of a specialization like gameplay, network, shader programming, toolmonkey etc. And regular software engineering jobs want to see Masters who interned with them. I'll be honest and say the latter is filled with hacks that don't really know how to evaluate candidates but it is what it is.

The tweet was posted a few hours ago and instantly went ultra-viral (over 200k likes and 20 million views in under 6 hours) because it contained an extremely potent, perfectly looped 3D hentai goon clip (Rin Itoshi from Blue Lock getting absolutely destroyed in a mating press with ahegao, non-stop creampie overflow, the works).

It was so hypnotic/hypno-level addictive that thousands of people were openly replying “I’m not making it out of this one” “this loop ended me” “I lost No Nut November in 4K” etc. The replies were pure gooner chaos.

Twitter/X mass-reported it and nuked the tweet almost immediately, which is why you’re seeing the “deleted” page now. The clip itself is already being called legendary in the goon communities and is getting re-uploaded everywhere (rule34video, iwara, erome, etc.) under filenames like “Rin Itoshi mating press loop” or “BokuDev final boss”.

Basically, it was the hentai equivalent of a nuclear warhead getting dropped on chronically online coomers and then hastily covered up by X. That’s why the dead link is still blowing up.

Spent 5 hours yesterday chasing down a bug. It was caused by three unconnected mistakes on my part, and leaving any one of them unfixed didn't change anything so it was like whatever I tried nothing seemed to work. The bug? An image turned black for 3 frames during a screen transition. But it's fixed now so that's something at least.

What do solo devs here do about the aspects of the game they have no experience with? I can draw and code but I can't really do much else. Is collaboration the only option?

Let me preface this by saying I'm NOT Betz, but I think Betz's best course of action is to finish out the game jam and then fuck off for awhile until he's ready to do the summer show. Not to play detective but none of this stuff went off the rails until recently so I genuinely think it's a manic episode and it'll pass. I have my theory as to why it went nuclear but no one cares honestly so I'll keep it to myself.

I don't think Betz is a bad person, but he needs some time offline for a while DESU. I think he's capable of putting something cool together which I have participated in. People forget these threads do not reflect the community as a whole and while yes, an attempted doxx does not look good on his part, it'll pass.

Hire someone to make music for your game. You can "collab" if you want but I find it less hassle to just pay them for a bunch of songs.
Work on a game that doesn't require writing.
Buy a couple of sound effect packs. Don't bother making or recording your own no matter what anyone here says.
Sound effect packs cost me 50 dollars total but I have enough to last me for several projects since I bought a bunch of bundles discounted. And I plan on hiring a cheap japanese musician to make me some 5-10 songs for 500-1000 dollars. (Thank god the yen is weak right now.)
