>Not sure what private trackers are all about?
A private tracker is an invite-only torrent website. Each member shares common goals: collecting, preserving and discussing media.

Aither overtook Blutopia in both Movies & TV Shows
As of February 2nd, 2026:
Movies:
Aither: 75,969
Blutopia: 74,470
TV Shows:
Aither: 18,450
Blutopia: 18,312
Trailing behind only BHD (PTP & BTN excluded obviously), and perhaps HDB? Not sure whether HDB exposes those stats!

I wasn't referring to these (very few) people, if cinema is your passion sure go for it and spend a lot of time on it. I just shared my situation (probably very common) of spending a lot of time hoarding/contributing without even watching most of it
>>
>>108042174
Actually TL or IPT are missing a lot. For 99% of the people i think Aither or Beyond with the request system is good enough
BTN/PTP are nice because they are like 16 years old archive that benefited from the old thriving pirate community, but right now? everyone so scared to make an upload, help or anything, even Beyond went from easy to "impossible" tier

Open letter to Hollywood:
I won.
90% of Mega’s traffic is piracy, legal piracy. There is nothing you can do about it. 360 million users. Twice the size of Megaupload. I founded it. I gave it encryption on the fly and I made it in a way that New Zealand would protect it.
After nearly 15 years my journey in NZ is coming to an end. Next stop Virginia. But you don’t want me there because I will drag you into Court, expose your bribery and make you look stupid.
You can have it the easy way and I show you how to make billions with piracy traffic. I can even show you how to survive AI. You have no clue. Or have it the hard way and I will humiliate you. I can do that.
Your Jewish clown in New Zealand cannot deliver any income for you. What is he good for? Deliver me? Your biggest problem? You should have made me your friend like I offered when I founded Mega.
Here is your last chance to make a deal with me. I have the capacity to forgive and make the next 15 years lucrative for us or I can continue to fight and make the next 15 years painful for you. I have already won. You can be smart or you can be stubborn. Your choice.
Let's have a happy ending?
Yours,
Kim

What about OPS? Curated content, no dumb scan or naming rules and there ton of leechers to keep the content alive
I think the main problem is that private trackers especially private ones became too niche: back in the days everyone was on what, now? 4 time less pop

This would also reduce the strain on the tracker. Just imagine how many V0 torrents get announced every minute just for no one to download them. There are like 3 people using lidarr and downloading V0s

>no mention of 320
I'd prefer to see 320 go first
>>
>>108044763
I'm one of the few who only listens to their music in V0 form.
But I don't DOWNLOAD it in V0 form. I download in flac and then transcode it myself. Cus why would I download anything but archival quality? Might as well use soulseek at that point.
However, I don't think everyone wants to transcode, so some people do actually grab V0. Either way, RED mods ain't listening to us.
>>
>>108045106
320 is already like a 60% size reduction, why prefer v0 with worse quality and only a little more size reduction. Eventually I would be open to ban 320, but baby steps
>>108045139
Yeah, everyone can just transcode their shit themselves. It's not harder to automate this, than setting up lidarr or whatever
>>
>>108044763
You've fallen for the common neon trap of thinking 320 > V0. The reality is that V0 > 320 and it was time to get rid of 320, like, years ago. The only reason it exists is for old software, which would kind of be a valid reason if it wasn't for the fact you can make 320s from FLACs anyway. So I guess they should make 320s trumpable by FLACs. Never gonna happen I bet
>>
>>
>>108045178
This might be true. I just dont like VBR. I'd prefer CBR, instead of some algorithm deciding how many kbit/s I get for a track at each second. Would you prefer a continuous same-speed handjob or someone going super slow, sometimes increasing in speed an then going slow again? Which one makes you cum faster?
>>
>>108043771
Sonarr is absolute aids, I added all my trackers and then started getting all kinds of dogshit releases, shitty upscales etc from the shit tier trackers and Usenet. Then I tried disabling everything but BTN and then came back and prowlarr had overwritten it.
Hate getting a stupid hodgepodge of episodes from different groups and then not be able to seed a season pack at the end.
This shit should just work properly out of the box without ten billion config changes

Arre bhaiya, HUNO tracker is too much underrated only, yaar! Salute to this tracker’s simplicity – full fairness for all types of users, even if your upload speed is slower than my uncle’s Tata Nano! 5Mbps ke saath bhi, you can download 20+ torrents daily, no ratio tension-shension! Perfect for building your personal movies/TV library, 100% guaranteed! Their web-dl and HEVC encodes? Size mein chhota, quality mein mota!
And their internals? HONE WEB releases are top-class, bhai! New movies and episodes drop faster than Mumbai monsoon rains! Other new trackers getting hype? Good for them, but HUNO speaks quality-quality everywhere – torrents, community, retention… total package only! If you don’t have this tracker, life mein kya rakha hai? Secondary ho ya main, must-have hai!

>... you can see the chroma bleed in Jamie Lee's lips in shot 11, and her cheek makeup
>Yeah, it seems that x265 handles chroma pretty poorly when it comes to live action stuff (or perhaps more accurately, grainy stuff). I've always found this behavior a bit odd since at least on paper x265 should be much better with chroma than x264 ever was, not only do you get psychovisuals on chroma (and I'm sure plenty of other optimizations I'm not aware of) but it also exposes full Y/Cb/Cr offsets where with x264 you only get Y/CbCr. Cho should know all about this given that Akira scene...
>x265 is in a bit of a strange place as it is quickly becoming more and more irrelevant, being squished between x264s continued excellence and the rapid progression of AV1 encoders.
x265 is useless unless it's HDR, 4K, or anime.

A white man will simply go to RED, download whatever he wants without worrying about ratio (imagine not being /set4lyfe/) and perma-seed it from his own hardware.
>>
>>108049421
That's just what deepseek called it. At this point any CD that has different mastering compared to WEB is basically rare, don't you think? Streaming enables frictionless piracy for normies. Maybe across torrents and soulseek 500 people are sharing a CD rip of a popular album. That's still a fairly small number. You'll find every 100% log version of Radiohead albums from RED on slsk but some less popular stuff it's more hit and miss. They're effectively rarities as far as public sharing goes.
>>108049572
I wrecked my ratio multiple times over because I download that much music and dump shitloads of buffer into requests.
>>
>>108049582
>At this point any CD that has different mastering compared to WEB is basically rare
I should also say how my post can sound a little dumb here. If the album went triple diamond and you can find 5 copies of it at your local Goodwill that nobody wants it's obviously not "rare" as far as a physical artifact goes. But digital files are different. Something like that probably has multiple perfect rips that were made years ago floating around. But there are other ones too. Besides that an actual rare piece of physical media might be easy to find on p2p. Since it gets turned into files infinite copying is possible. Then we have all these edge cases where the definitive versions of somewhat popular albums, or any version at all, still don't have 100% log rips which is why I am so obsessed with buying CDs right now.
>>
>>108049660
Unless the album become suddenly rare or something, no one cares really, like ton of jap/experimental shit has no log but people are fine with it because they would cost like 50-70$ shipping included for a "100% log"
Focusing on lossless missing or just rips that aren't online (including bandcamp shit) is smarter
>>
>>108049660
>>108050138
Oops posted too fast
The main point is getting the content out there and preserved ad vitam eternam. even common stuff that only recently became OoP already cost like x5/x6 the amount, and a huge number of those "collectors retards" are greedy fag who will never share it anywhere (i tried multiple time and they are always faggy) so ur fucked in the future if its not on a tracker
>>
>>108050138
Well if you pay close attention to Yahoo Auctions you can get good deals. I'm going to consolidate all the things I buy in a single package so the shipping isn't a big problem. How much I am willing to spend depends on the actual rarity and how bad I want it. If it's a good deal and no 100% rip exists then I want it. If it's unripped I really want it. I'm willing to pay more for something unripped than I would something that just doesn't have a log. I'm trying to improve archival integrity not truly be a collector fag but in this process I'm going to end up with a bunch of rare CDs. Sometimes beat up copies with no OBI. Sometimes perfect specimens. I need to expand to buying from the US/UK too.
>>
>>108049572
>saaar please upload on soulseek so i can leech of you, im banned from red interview...
This isn't a problem btw. I've been on RED since what.cd went down. I have a massive seed size that's constantly growing all on a seedbox. My home connection is CGNAT so it's not really worth bothering with a proper home seeding setup. I'm archiving all the music I download on external hard drives for now. The long term goal is to back it up to M Discs. I want my library to be around as long as I'm alive. Maybe I can find someone who would care to take a shitload of pirated music after I die too.
>>
My final word about this is people have mostly stopped caring about music piracy. That's kinda why it's more important than ever to take what you can and save it for as long as you can. Less people are working to improve archival integrity so it needs all the help it can get from autists like me who are comparing every version before they download something and freaking out because some US retailer exclusive bonus CD with two extra tracks doesn't have a 100% log.

It all depends. I am into things at all levels of popularity. From deeply obscure things to the most common stuff everyone has heard of. A lot of the time people come around on stuff I liked when it was obscure and nobody else was paying attention to it. I'm early to new trends but I don't act like a hipster fag when my favorite artists become popular. I actually want what I like to be more popular, not to just jack off to being into stuff nobody knows about.
>>
>>
>>
To think popularity and quality are equal is retarded. But it's also retarded to think good things are never popular. The Backstreet Boys sold a lot of fucking albums with their watered down R&B. But Thriller didn't sell like it did because girls wanted to fuck Michael Jackson. That shit slaps like a drunken stepmother after you call her a stupid cunt.

do OPS recruiters consider any v0/320 transcode as spammy regardless if the original format (uploaded by me of course) is a 2.0+ GB 24flac or a 100% log checked CD rip??

On the red's spammer bible, the author writes the following:

And I would believe this if I was just uploading fucking whatever from squid.wtf or deezloader every day, but I was wondering if it would be the at least excused if my uploads were mostly cd rips or heavy sized flacs

it's just a waste of time if your goal is one of the trackers that requires you to have 500 flacs...why upload anything else, it's just pointless...
If you just wanna make PU/Elite or something and know you'll never do 500 flacs, then sure, go for it, it's a really quick way to get to GGn/AB, basically set4lyf besides movies.

I don't know what trackers anon is in. Some of them make you immune to inactivity after donating, other trackers don't care at all and ask you to log in no matter what you've uploaded or seeded.

I don't bother with 320 because they'll die and get deleted. I'll do a V0 for any flac ULs or any flac I snatch where there isn't a V0 already. I'm not trying to get recruited or anything since I got in everywhere already but it's nice to have for rank/immunity/features. IMO V0 is worth it 320 isn't
>>
The only value 320 has is as a legacy format. Like if you were buying shit off Beatport in the 2000s you were probably getting 320s. There's a lot of music out there that might only exist in that form at this point.

Coming up this year is the ten year anniversary of a guy getting fined $1.1m in court for uploading on PTP, and yet that site's still going just fine despite the fact the feds are evidently on it.

+ Ranking up doesn't actually require you to do a lot of uploads and most stuff is already there: you can upload niche shit, but there is a high chance people won't even have them themselves because of malware fears lol

I propose the addition of an AB torrent naming scheme. Finding any anime in my folder is so fucking hard, because often the folder has the subs group first like [softsubs] (coalgirls) etc.
It's infuriating.

What I always do is create a symlink for all episode files that'll point to the torrent directory. I put all of those symlinks in a folder that I will name myself and that folder is then shared using samba. Allowing symlinks in samba is bad security practice and disabled by default but I only allow access to a few whitelist local IP's and it's all behind logins so not an issue for me. Yes I know that all of this sounds autistic but it works and with the helps of some scripts (to make the symlinks) this takes almost no time at all and I get to name everything whatever I want.

Yea I rename all mine in transmission (when I have nothing else to do and I feel like going through them, which is rare). It's extra annoying when people name the files themselves a retarded way that taiga can't understand.

Old scene naming was much worse. Sometimes there's no way to tell what the title of the movie is. I don't know what the explanation behind it is there but maybe the scene fag can give some imput for why that used to happen in the past

>because of this i now have to make & keep a separate "torrent" copy of said thing on my drive, outside of my general "collection" folder, eating up my drive space for no reason
Your filesystem doesn't have dedupe? Though I agree it's still annoying to have to rename and retag everything

He said those were the only sources. Also doesn't youtube use 160kbps opus?

It's also possible to get 256k AAC from soundcloud. That's probably what you will want to compare with 251 from youtube.

Someone that has like 150gb seeding size on hdb and 3 download a year lmfao

One question, what's the point of logs on RED, if you're a) allowed to change the file names after ripping and b) allowed to change tags after ripping? That means you can't really prove anymore that the log file I upload with the rip really corresponds to the music files in the torrent, because the names and file hashes are changed.

This is why you don't mess with seadex because we will ban you from your trackers. We all have admin or mod on all your sites

run this commandflac -cd --force-raw-format --sign signed --endian little input.flac > output
crc32 output
and you will see that the crc matches the one in the log.
changing the tags doesn't change the music stream itself, just the things around it
